Mediterranean southern Italian cuisine and cruise ship ambiance in Okinawa - minutes from the airport!

Further up the hill on the Mediterranean Greek-style white-washed terraces of Umikaji Terrace, minutes away from Okinawa's Naha Domestic and International Airports by free shuttle bus or taxi, is a must-try southern Italian eatery, the Posillipo Cucina Meridionale restaurant, where one can have trattoria or ristorante dishes, reasonably price - from Sicilian olives, parma, calamari, trippa, risotto, pizza, pasta, panini, grills to full course dishes.

For a tasting, I'd recommend the antipasto misto (piccolo JPY 1,200, 3 to share or grande, JPY 1,800, 5 persons to share).

Wash the delicacies down with a huge variety of beers, wines and cocktails. Our favorites include Corona, Bass Ale, Blue Moon or Okinawa's Orion Draft. You can have wine by the glass, by the carafe or full bottles, and spend form JPY 500 to JPY 15,000.

The rooftop bar "Mare" completes the Med experience on a cruise ship! It has a bar counter shaped like a Venetian row boat, cruise ship rails, even deck chairs! And ah, the...

Food is 5 star. Unfortunately service is not. 5 pax and only 4 spoon. Asked for 5th one and waiter did not acknowledge. He returned later with the spoon though... But we were asking ourselves why he couldn't acknowledge it.

Half way through my meal, while clearing the finished plates, he cleared my spoon n knife also. I ended up with a fork only for the next 2 dishes... Sigh.

Services really need to improve. What a pity!!!

All food is very nice though. The hazelnut and almond semifredo so good that you can die for. Pasta very high standard. Pizza sizzling good. All drinks nice.

But then, with service lapses, this place unfortunately deserve a 3 star rating. By the way, they charge yen500 per pax for dinner for service charge so no excuse for not giving good service. Hopefully, I will be able to upgrade the rating if the service...

Our 1st meal in Okinawa!!! Headed straight to Posillipo after we arrived in Naha Airport!! The food is really delicious and the staff is nice although his English is not really good. At first we mistaken the menu so we ordered a lot more than 2 girls can take so the staff tried to inform us that we ordered too much, but his English is not good so we took some time trying to understand what he is trying to say. Fortunately, we cancelled 2 dishes and had a great lunch!! Indeed the dishes that we ordered is enough after we cancelled the other 2. Thanks for the staff! :) Recommend the pizza, salad, dessert..ummm almost everything is good! Ohh we didn't get to see the airplanes depart and landing due to the rainy cloudy weather but the whole atmosphere is still good. Enjoy your time when you have the chance to visit...
