Once we arrived we were told that a 10pm curfew applied, and that the bathroom was only available between 6pm and 10pm! ALL toilets are Japanese style; no cooking/kitchen facilities available to guests, although the staff allowed us to store some milk in their fridge; the information about check-out time and bathroom usage written on the information booklet in the room was different from what the staff told us; other guests received information that we didn't (towels could be rented; a pamphlet about local restaurants - although apparently it was the last copy and the gentleman had to return it [why not make more copies? Why didn't we get one seeing as we arrived earlier?]). Oh, and 'interesting' music was playing from the reception area downstairs at 7:30 in the morning which prevented me from going back to sleep. Wajima is a beautiful little fisherman's town, but be aware that the town goes to bed around 9pm. Last service at most restaurants is 7:30 and supermarkets close at 8 or 9. Wajima is a nice place to come and see, but not a place to stay the night, and especially for western tourists this is not the hotel to stay. Even my Japanese partner was uncomfortable with the toilet situation. To think I paid 12,580 yen, even after a 70% discount, is shocking. Not worth the money, considering the toilet/bathroom situation and lack of transparency online about the 'house rules' (curfew!? what are we, kids?! Give us a key!), and with restaurants closing so early we couldn't even buy food and cook dinner because there's no guest kitchen. Don't stay...
