Isaribi-no-Yado Seaside Kancho — Hotel in Wakayama

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights The following are the comments.||||Pros:||1. Staff are very polite.||2. Location - very close to Osaka city. You can enjoy the shopping in Rinku Outlet near the airport. It takes less than an hour to drive there with Aeon Mall on the way.||3. Meals - We had the hotpot plan. The first night we had fish and meat; and the second night we had beef. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the meals were great.||4. Some parts of the hotel are recently renovated. There is a very nice lounge with free massage chairs and free coffee and tea.||5. I had a sea view room and the view is really nice.||6. They have a sister hotel nearby and they offer coupons to use their hot spring. The hot spring of their sister hotel is quite nice.||||Cons:||1. The room I had was quite small with no bathroom. There is a toilet though.||2. While many of the common areas had been renovated recently, they should firstly upgrade the room. The room I had was really old. ||3. The walls are very thin. There was a very loud and noisy family staying next to my room. I heard their conversation and walking clearly. I had to call the reception and asked them to do something about the noise. I never had such a problem before.||4. Their hot springs are new but way to small. The outdoor "pools" are not practically. It is too crowded for the guests. The water is way too hot as well. Maybe that's why they are giving out coupons to their sister hotel.||5. WIFI in common areas only||6. They do have some new rooms but they are very very expensive.||||I would never come back to this hotel again as the rooms are old and the hot springs are too small to enjoy. For the money I paid, I can find a number of cheaper but nicer hotels...

This small hotel is situated near sea side. There are around 20 rooms and the view from room is beautiful especially sunset. The beds are in Japanese style (tatami). The hotel has been renovated, room is clean and tidy. Only drawback is bathroom is quite small. ||The hotel package included breakfast and dinner. Food are in delicate Japanese style and delicious. Hotel staff are very nice, they tried their best to communicate with us in English. Appreciated. ||Hot spring area is not big but you can see gorgeous seaside view. There is private hot spring area but we didn't ask how to book it. ||The lounge area is comfortable with free coffee and tea provided. And there are three massage chairs that I can relax while enjoying nice seaside view. chair|| In general, this hot spring resort is a good choice if you want to enjoy quietness and don't want to be packed with many visitors.
