Hotaru no Nagaya — Hotel in Yamaga

Very good experience. It’s located in a quiet hotspring town. We stayed 1 night in house “有為の奥山” without any meals. The house is spacious for 3 adults consisting of 1 living room, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and most importantly 1 indoor and 1 outdoor private onsen! The onsen water feels natural. My skin feels smoother after the bath. Both onsens are spacious. I think the outdoor one can accommodate up to 4 adults and indoor one 2 adults. Staffs don’t speak English but tried their best to communicate and accommodate our needs. Free amenities, facial masks. coffee and tea are provided. Check out is done inside the house. Plenty of parking spaces. Be advised the entrance provided on Google Map is wrong. It’s on the upslope side of the hotel, not the side facing...

I stayed with a friend for one night in this lovely place, in a rather quiet onsen village. It took us around 2 hours to get here from Fukuoka, and we were so happy that we spent that time! We got our own little house with a living room, bed room, bathroom and both an indoor and outdoor hot spring. Everything from the accomodation, to the service and especially the food was done with a precious eye to detail and much care. The entire atmosphere allowed to feel at peace immediately and was very relaxing. まず、料理がとても美味しかった。||フレンチと懐石が調和しており、見た目は華やかですが繊細な味わい。||最初の前菜は、5品ほどありましたが、すべて味が違いました。||ところどころにピザやフォアグラなどのこってりした料理が出て来ますし、||食べきれないほどの量でしたが、飽きのこないお味で、美味しいのですべて完食。||至福の時でした。||||が、お風呂が最悪で・・・・。||||||まず、平山温泉の源泉の温度はとても低い。||冬に行きましたので、お湯がぬるいというより冷たい！||最初の説明で、冷たい時はお湯を入れてちょうど良い温度にしてくださいと言われていたので、蛇口をひねってお湯を入れようとすると、お湯が出ない！！！||フロントに電話したら、20分以上お湯を出しっぱなしにしたら、ボイラーが止まり、お湯が出なくなるんですよ、と言われたので、||「今初めてお湯を出したんですけど・・・・・・」||と反論するもあまり聞き入れてもらった感じがせず。||まあ仕方ないと諦め、電話したらお湯が出るようになったので、||温泉に浸かり、夕食を食べ、またお風呂に入ろうとしたら、、、、||またお湯が出ない！！||再び電話すると、「20分以上お湯を出されると・・・・うんぬん・・・」||「いや、そう言われるから10分程度しかお湯は出してないんですけど・・・・・・」||こんなやり取りが三回、ありました。||最後は私も堪忍袋の緒が切れて、||「20分以上出したことなんて一回もなかったですよ！||だいたい、こんな冷たい温泉じゃあ、20分お湯を使ったって仕方ないくらいの状態ですよ、それでも、10分くらいしかお湯を出さず我慢したのに・・・・・・・」||と、怒るも、謝罪は一切なしでした。||||もう行かないかな。||でも、料理はまた食べたい。||||暑い夏に行く...
