If you enjoy being disrespected, not getting the room you paid for and loud noise all night stay here.
We booked two renovated superior twin rooms advertised as 280 sq ft (~26 m²) with a seating area, but were given rooms 201 and 202, which were far smaller—about 160–170 sq ft (15–16 m²)—and had no seating area. There was barely space to move around.
I went to reception to ask for the rooms I had booked. The young receptionist kept insisting I already had them and that all rooms were the same. When I showed him the photos from the listing, he changed his story several times—first saying the pictured rooms weren’t available, then that such rooms didn’t exist, then that the photos were only “for the listing.” If that’s true, where did the photos come from?
He eventually said he could downgrade me to a larger unrenovated room. I kept insisting to be given the rooms I had paid for, but the receptionist just cheekily smiled the entire time—an incredibly disrespectful attitude.
It was only when I stopped speaking English and switched to Arabic that the concierge, Dawood, promptly came over. After a few words with the receptionist he showed me room 421, which matched the room I had booked. Our luggage was moved, after some delay, to rooms 421 and 426. Room 426 was smaller and lacked a seating area but was still larger than the first two, so I accepted it to avoid further hassle.
Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. There was an extremely loud constant drilling-like noise, starting and stopping every few seconds. At 1:15 a.m., not being able to sleep, I called reception and was assured it would be looked into, but nothing was done. Other guests have mentioned the same issue, apparently caused by water pumps. The shower pressure was also extremely weak in one of the rooms and the Wi-Fi did not work in the other. Generally, staff here are not friendly.
The 1 Star earned is due to the breakfast. Excellent breakfast; plenty of options and an omelette station.
Dear Management: I expect a refund for one of the two rooms as a fair solution for the many negative experiences endured at this so-called 4-star establishment. If you do not intend to offer a resolution, please do not reply, as a hollow apology would only cause...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel for a work trip and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The condition of the room left much to be desired, with old and dirty carpets and curtains. To make matters worse, there were small mosquitoes buzzing around the room. The toilet emitted a foul odor, likely exacerbated by the practice of using the same mop to clean it daily.
One major issue was the air conditioning system, which seemed to carry the scent of the kitchen into the room when turned on. However, the most frustrating aspect of my stay was the automatic music system in the corridors. Every night, without fail, loud pop music would start blaring around 3:00 am. When I approached the reception staff to request that the music be turned off, I was met with the disappointing response that they couldn't do anything about it as the system was new and they were testing it. Consequently, I endured five nights of being abruptly awoken by the intrusive music, which significantly impacted the quality of my sleep and overall experience.
Considering the state of the room, the mosquito issue, the unpleasant toilet smell, the kitchen odor from the AC, and the disruptive music system, I cannot recommend this hotel for a comfortable and peaceful stay, especially for those on business trips. It's unfortunate that these issues overshadowed what could have been a more...
Read moreWorst hotel I have ever been to, where do I start
1)reception are all sarcastic and rude and don't offer any help or advise just there to grab money from you, also called me 930 pm while we were asleep to ask for some payment...
2)Bathrooms were so dirty and the cleaners keep using dirty mops that smell awful. Carpets all old and dusty.
3)we booked a room that was a non smoking room, but as soon as you turn the aircon on the cigarette smell seeps in and of feels like a smoking room at an airport.
4)general staff have no manners and are so rude and everyone just stares instead of being polite and professional like every other hotel.
Every night there is a wedding so you have drums and dancing all the way through the night place is a joke.
There is only one power point in room. You cant turn on the kettle without having to stop using something else.
And the pool was under construction nearly the entire trip. Not happy.
Breakfast is poor and always has the same breakfast so dull and boring.
Never again will I come back to Geneva. Also this hotel does not deserve 2 stars...
