It was our first time to stay at this hotel, we booked base on the positive reviews they have, unfortunately non of the reviews was right, these are the issues we had at this hotel, and they did not fix the issues however, your money isn't refundable as we told by Mr, Ismael: 1- We were informed by Ismael (front desk manager) that the Hotel free smoking, thus him and his front desk team they do take turn smoking just few feet away from the front desk, "under stairs beside the front desk", Our two rooms smells fresh smoking around the clock, when I asked housekeeping I was told that next door customers are smoking. 2- In our two room we had the (shower water mixer) or the water pressure water pump valve wasn't working, because after adjusting the water to warm temperature, with less than a second the water turns boiling hot above the person taking shower, with the shampoo on the head!!!!!!!!! I do leave you with imaginations!!! We complained about the boiling water, but nothing was done, so for safety precocious we took showers with cold water during our stay, (28 days) 3- Door stopper is located right at the front of the closet which is the traffic area where my son stepped on it and hurt his foot. 4- I noticed poor food handling, on the breakfast buffet there was one day bad smelly tomato wedges, I brought that to one of the employees, later a cook came and picked that dish. 5- A/C was not functioning well, the bed cover was extremely warm, if you uncover during sleep it was extremely cold, where I and my son got stomach colic, we asked for hotel maintenance, when he opened the A/C grill the filter!!! OMG 1/2 CM thick of dust!! 6- in room # 222 Shower on top of Jacuzzi (HOW), it's totally unsafe because with soap it's easy to slip and break the back of your head. 7- In room # 222 balcony rail is dusty and filthy. 8- TV isn't working, old style receiver box with outdated TV with two remotes, totally bad. 9- Elevators slow weirdly functioning. If you press level 2 you will find yourself in level 4!! 10 Hallways aren't air conditioned, we found several customers are lost and wondering!! 11- Water leakage in the bathroom. 12- Both rooms we had are filled with mold, and the smell of it. 13- We were told by one of the front desk that, the beautiful fountain water in front of the building, it was designed that big and nice to have the sound of the water higher than the ELECTRIC HIGH VOLTAGE SOUND ABOVE THE HOTEL, early in the morning when it quit the High Voltage sound is really loud and terrifying. 14- This establishment doesn't meet HOTEL neither Resort minimal standards because they are more into wedding parties than running a hotel, their standards barely meet furnished apartment, on daily based there are 2-3 parties going at the same time, the loud music goes past midnight, also you do need to argue with valet to get a park for the rental car we do have, basically Hotel residents are treated as second class. 15- Miss advertising and miss leading consumers, they are advertising for GYM, and there is no GYM at the Hotel, they are advertising for business center, there is no business center, I had to drive 30 KM to go and print some documents. 16- SADLY, I HAD TO ASK FOR HOTEL MANAGER, I WAS TOLD HE ISN'T AT THE HOTEL AND NO ONE KNOWS...
Read moreI am currently staying at the Opal Hotel in Amman and let me say I wish I could take the staff of this hotel and hire them for myself. Nothing is too much to ask! They are the kindest most service centered people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment I landed and called saying I needed transportation I was treated like a queen. I don't remember the guys name at the front desk that originally assisted me and sent my wonderful driver Mohamed to not only pick me up but also take me on a full day tour at an reasonable price. Mohamed even recommended a restaurant to me and sat and waited in the car as I tried my first traditional meal which was amazing! He then even stopped and purchased me a traditional dessert called kanafe which I enjoyed immensely. After he dropped me back to the hotel I decided I wanted a massage but the QR code in the room that brings up the spa menu isn't in English so I was happy when I received a call from guest services inquiring about any needs I had. I inquired about an English version of the menu as well as the restaurant menu only to promptly receive a freshly printed copy at my door of the spa menu, and then a leather bond menu from the restaurant! I decided to go to the restaurant where I was received by Omar the captain. He waited on me hand and foot and was very patient with me. He not only insured that I was given everything I want quickly but also went beyond his duties and took my left over food to my room. My key didn't work when he went to it so he brought my food back and offered to have my key situation worked out as I continued to relax and have sheesha and tea. He then came back and retrieved my food and put it into my room...I later got lost because I tend to do that, lol...and he found me on the staff floor and he took me all the way to my room to insure I couldn't get lost again. I also have to point out how amazing bothe dinners I had at the Opal were. E everything was fresh, tasty and nicely priced. Oh and Saqer the shisha man is so very sweet and never allows your shisha to go out or to taste not fresh. He was so tentative and he seems to really enjoy taking care of the guest... but I think that is the standard for all the employees at the Opal. Lastly the manager Rasheed seemingly sets the standard for him employees. He was so kind and humble yet efficient in insuring there was absolutely nothing else he and his team could do to make me happy. He came to me at the end of each of my meals to insure I was completely pleased and to be sure I would walk away from my experience with his team happy. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and just makes you feel like you are in full luxury. Thank you guys so much! Five stars. I will be posting content from my stay on my IG and TikTok @firesfive so that everyone knows how great these people and...
Read moreWorst experience! I have never had such worst experience at any hotel around the word. We(me and my girlfriend) visited Jordan for the first time for a sports tournament. I picked this hotel because it was at walking distance from the club we were playing at. I booked a twin room for 3 nights and arrived at the hotel at 10pm to rest and recover from the travel fatigue. While paying at the hotel reception I told the staff, "my girlfriend will arrive at 1:00am, shall I leave the door open for her?" and the front desk staff Ismail and Muhammed said "no worries, we will give her another entry card." I needed rest to play the tournament that was starting next morning at 7:00am so I went to my room and slept. At midnight, I received call from reception and the hotel manager told me, "it is not allowed to have a couple in same room without marriage certificate. So your girlfriend will not be allowed to check-in when she arrives." I was shocked by the tone of manager. I said I wasn't informed about this while checking in but anyways, you can give my girlfriend another room to stay. it was clearly the staff's mistake for not informing me, so I shouldn't be charged twice. The manager replied, "you should've checked on our website." we argued on the same for about 30 minutes and the manager said, "you can have a room and pay another 90$ or you may check out right now after paying for one night." I requested to speak to higher management but my request was refused. I couldn't sleep/rest, paid for another room for my girlfriend and checked out the next morning from this hell hole. The hotel management has zero regard for clients. People stay at hotels for comfort and not for staying up all night dealing with shity situations created by their staff. Even though they agreed that it was staff's mistake for not informing about the "rule" yet they didn't compensate and charged me for two separate rooms. I wouldn't recommend filling the pockets of such thugs that cannot have even a little empathy and be considerate about a situation. I would rather give my business elsewhere but never to Opal Hotel ever again. Hope this review helps a few out there....
