If you are coming to visit Kolsay and Kaindy lakes from Almaty, you will most likely look for a place to stay the night. Almost all other hotels/guest houses etc are located in Saty Village. But Kolsay Lakes Village is a hotel which is located right at Kolsay Lake itself. The size of the room is not large, but it is quite comfortable for your stay. Since there is no other property at the lake, the location of this hotel is UNBEATABLE! ||It is not a very large establishment but it provides very neat, clean and decent accommodation. There are a few rooms (called ROOMS MODERN) which have an attached bathroom/toilet, which is a rarity in that general area since most of the Guest Houses have shared toilets. One of the most wonderful features of this hotel is its restaurant where you have your (free) breakfast. The restaurant offers a totally lovely view of the lake. Look for an English speaking waiter called Daniel at the restaurant. ||For the present the hotel can be reached only through Instagram for reservations. Our Triple room was literally 60sq ft, with a bunk bed. Also, it was hard to get the heating right for this space…it was either too hot or cold.|For the next night we moved to a Luxe category room, which was a Junior Suite. This has 2 bedrooms with a good sized common area and a common bathroom…this was much nicer…and views from the deck were also good.||I would suggest getting the Luxe rooms, if you can afford it. ||The restaurant attached to the hotel also serves the tourist hordes visiting the lakes, and has a varied menu. It’s okay overall.||Closest location to the lake is a plus…but maybe it isn’t so bad to stay in Saty and drive in. Overall the...
