Baursaq — Restaurant in Almaty Region

TLDR; Food is nasty. Price is very high for the food served.

Unfortunately we stumbled on this because we couldn't find the restaurant behind it, it's situated weirdly on a hill. This turned out to be our biggest regret of the day.

Firstly I asked for Wifi password because there's no reception there, and their wifi came up. But the waitress said that they don't have, which is fine. But when a local went up to ask for WiFi, they granted him the password. Seems a bit rude.

Going onto food selection, the food was absolutely horrible. It was reheated food, barely reheated. The meat was cold and the potatoes was soggy on the outside and cold on the inside. To top it off, we asked the waitress' opinion on a good drink and they brought out this sad excuse of a drink. It was just syrup mixed with water. By far one of the worst made 'mojitos' I have ever tasted.

And to add insult to injury, the total for 2 plates of barely reheated food and a drink you can't have more than 2 sips of costed over 14000 Tenge.

We just got the food and gave it to the cats outside.

Fair enough you want to charge a specific price for your foods. But make sure to back it up with good food and I wouldn't...

Terrible place! Dirty bathrooms, dirty silverware, the food is not good at all! Don’t go here!

Instead hire a car to go down to the lake, and there’s a really nice restaurant up there. If you are traveling, this is the place to enjoy the view and have a decent meal.
