Merinja Guesthouse — Hotel in Lake View ward

It was such a good decision to stay at Merinja Guest House! If you prefer to feel like home, be well taken care of and connect with locals over pretentious, soulless hotels, then this place is for you! You really feel like staying at someone's home, although a huge one 😄 My room was spacious, perfectly clean and had a super comfy bed. The host is lovely and so welcoming. And please, when you stay there, don't miss out on Chef Young's delicious and hearty dishes. I'm sure it's much better than anything you get when you eat outside, and it's such a good amount for a really fair price. And healthy as well! The wifi was working well. The garden is amazing to enjoy the breakfast in the morning, or to chill in the hammock when you come back after Longonot or Hell's Gate, or to just hang out with the dogs Gucci...

Spent a self catering weekend here with a couple of friends, This was my second stay after awesome first stay during new years with a large group. Took the whole place back then accommodating about 18 people. The place is owned and managed by a lovely family, we felt right at home. Their new dog, Gucci, is a great addition & friendly dog for dog lovers.

Besides the immaculately clean rooms all with bathrooms there are two lounges with kitchens and a gazebo for barbecue from which you have a view of Lake Naivasha.

The place is family friendly, ample parking, and very accessible from Naivasha Town. Next time you are in Naivasha, try it out. I give it a 5-star on everything...

Few things in life are perfect, and staying in Merinja is of those chosen few. I have spent a month (!) there, and this recommendation is not only meant to give the place a perfect ten, but also to publicly say a warm and big thank you to Chef Young and to Caro for the tasty lovely meals, to Juli for keeping the rooms and the public spaces all clean, inviting and smiley, to Emmanuel for keeping the lovely garden tidy and such a great place to hang around in and relax, and of course, last but not least, to Patrick aka Mr. P., for orchestrating all this to perfection, making everyone staying in Merinja feel welcome and at home.
