Hotel Tobriana is easily accessible off Kiambu Road (in my case, through Gigiri). The roads are still undergoing some work and the parking (while adequate), cannot meet the heavy weekend demands when a lot of parents bring their kids to swim while they take it easy. The staff is spectacular (as I specifically mention Christine, Jane and Sarah who helped out greatly) and are always open to help or give a cheery greeting. I had the fortune of having a top floor room with a balcony and bath tub. Had an issue with my shower head which was immediately fixed when I brought it up. However, there was a large water shortage problem over four or so days that I was there. No reasons given but it was resolved. This is not a five star resort so those expectations will absolutely crash, but it is decent for its range. The chef had spectacular food (in my opinion) and even accommodated some individuals who couldn't have spicy foods. Room service (refilling toiletries) was a little wanting and I would not go for those light fixtures above the headboards but it worked. No mosquito nets even if the bed was four poster. Bathrooms vent within the space (maybe not ideal). Network connectivity is spotty and bad (no idea why given the location). If you have to leave on a Friday evening, rejoining Kiambu and Limuru roads is atrocious. But, all in all, a place I...

Read moreI am a very positive person that likes to write nice reviews but it's difficult to compliment this hotel. I will say the gardens are nice.
The main problem was we barely got any sleep:
Very noisy with a nearby bar blasting music coupled with barking dogs all night.
The room was very hot, no fan or AC. And they provide you with a heavy quilt and no top sheet.
Because there was no moving air, lots of mosquitoes. They had netting but we couldn't completely enclose the bed leaving it worthless.
Not very clean. The hotel is dark, the rooms are dark.
There are 100's of hotels in Nairobi. This is not one I...
