What the hotel has really done about is good photography. The online images of the facilities look amazing. However, truth on the ground is a bit different.||||My reservation was easy and they are good in communication and followup. However, the indicated location of 'near Serena' and 'near the beach is misleading. The facility is a bit hidden in some bushy area with bad muddy road which might not look safe to walk.||||The apartments are spacious yes. However, the general facility looks poorly finished with badly finished/painted walls, open sockets, missing drainage vent covers. Bed and mattress were a disappointment. The water is extremely salty and bathing was almost impossible as soap could not lather. Only a single bottle of water 500 mls is offered despite Mombasa heat, so buy your own water. ||My balcony door had no inner ledge and only that I was in second floor, it would have been impossible to convince me am safe. One had to have windows closed as the facility is surrounded b bushes which breed mosquitos. Cleaning was not thorough and only ne towel was provided and had a wet feel.||||The TV is an old analogue set with limited local channels which are mostly blurred. No other entertainment provision. WiFi was stable though.||||Breakfast was bare and same options every morning. Nothing unique but basic options.||||On the positive, they drop guests going to nearby hotels for conferences with their own vehicle. The swimming pool was a big relief. All the staff polite and friendly,I have returned to Nightingales time and time again.Having stayed at various other hotels and apartments this is one of the best,value of money and great service,dont listen to the local taxi drivers as they have a hidden agenda e.g they get commission to take you some where else.On the three occasions I have stayed at Nightingales I have felt safe and never had any issues,i will return again for sure.Also the power cut out at night has been sorted so just the normal Kenyan power cuts but that's Africa,the generator cuts...

I have been here for 3weeks and have 1week remaining. From the day we arrived the hospitality here has been amazing.|The chef makes delicious dishes, nothing is too much trouble for him. |The restaurant staff "Carol and Michael" are wonderful, they are extremely attentive and exceptionally polite.||Office staff are equally helpful and polite.||Swimming pool is beautiful, lovely and clean.||Apartments themselves are extremely spacious and comfortable.||To sum up, the Nightingale is great value for money and we have been coming here since...
