I came across the hostel just by passing by when I arrived to Karakol by bycycle. I was not very interested in sleeping in a tent as this is what I usually do when touring. Moreover, I hardly ever deide to sleep in dorms, but the property looked so nice, new and clean that I decided to take a look and stay for a night. I finished staying there for 4 nights! since I felt like at home. Even though you sleep in a tent, but it is very cosy, the mattress is great and people that stay there must be special cause they are not noisy and respect other people's needs.. There is a big living room with a place to cook, bathrooms are great, new and clean, wifi is working with no problem. I appreciate the owners efforts to make everybody's stay enjoyable and wish him and his family all the best not only in this business but in...
Read moreI loved my stay at Urban Monkey hostel. It is a very cosy place with a fun design, the space is very modern and super clean. It has a fully equipped kitchen (even a microwave), tents have thick mattresses and are very comfortable. There is lots of space for luggage too. You can also relax in the garden, or at the bar outside. The location is good, it is a few minutes away from long distance busses, around 2km away from the bazaar and most restaurants. I also loved the atmosphere of this place. Very social, people were very respectful and nice, Maxim, the manager of the hostel is such a kindhearted person, giving great recommendations and helping out whenever he can. I felt very safe and welcome as a female solo traveller. It's a great value for the price and I'd stay...
Read moreWe stayed in the tent hostel for about 2 weeks. The place is run by 2 very pleasant gentlemen Max and his brother. Clean hostel, clean bathrooms, a kitchenette, a fridge and washing machines. And the rent is affordable. There are also private rooms to choose from. Max and his brother are very helpful and kind. Will gladly dishing out local information, travel and transportation advice. Masrutkhas to the bazaar and to the Sunday animal market stop in front of the hostel. That's convenient. GoBus terminal is only about 10 minutes walk towards the big round about. Take left as you leave the hostel, take another left at the roundabout. GoBus leaves from the petrol station. Dungan mosque, bazaar, universities, restaurants are within walking distance...
