Piejuras kempings — Hotel in Ventspils

We paid €25 for a camper, two people and power.|This camping is close to the beach, ferry to Stockholm and town so it's location is good. It is also the only camping in town. However the camping is very poorly managed.|The showers and toilets are disgusting. The showers are mouldy, the toilet baskets constantly overflowing and the floors filthy. The only bonus is the showers have hot water.|The garbage bins are always full and overflowing.|This camp rents scooters which are driven at speed through the dusty tracks by adults and children so if you don't get a place away from one of the paths your van will be full of dust.|The lack of management means that children were running around screaming after midnight.|People were also taking their dogs into the toilet blocks.|Checking in and out of reception is painfully slow and when we went to pay we were told to come back later as the young girl couldn't work the system.|No idea how this camping gets such great reviews. Good thing: the sanitair looks clean and nice location. However the take in procure takes over 30 minutes, the staff doesn't do anything to ensure that people stick to the rules: several dogs walking freely over the campsite and lots of music and noice. The tent field is very large and full of tents and cars. The camping is actually not clild friendly and feels unsafe, due to the freely walking dogs and especially because of the cars. Confusing and slightly chaotic situation on the large tent field implies that cars are continuing driving everywere over the place. There is a playgroud but it's really small. The camping ground is at a great location: close to the beach, in the forest, rather quiet (apart from once in a while passing powerfull engine motorcycles). A very clean ans nice kitchen to cook food especially for those staying in the tents, make dishes, people use internet there as the connection is the best. The toilets are good, though bathrooms could be upgraded as there were no benches nor shelves to put a toiletry bag or other items you might...
