Management will rip you off and humiliate you but apparently it’s okay because “management” happens to be the owner’s daughter ???

I’m absolutely appalled by the way my mum and I were treated at this wannabe hotel. I booked through booking-com after carefully reading the reviews. I’m now convinced that every single 5-star review was posted by a hotel employee to manipulate potential customers.

Upon checking in, we were told by the receptionist that we should only pay for the first 2 nights of our stay and continue paying as we go. The first night was a NIGHTMARE. The room reeked of a very pungent toilet smell. The bed sheets were stained and the pillows were a yellow colour with red and black spots. We KINDLY informed the receptionist that we would like to move to a new room. We moved to a new room but we were so over it as it was 3am. The new room was no better. The floor was dirty and there was no lock, no mirror and no mini bar. Safe to say that we did not sleep that night.

That same night, the “manager” who we had never met nor spoken to, took it upon herself to falsely report to booking-com that we were a “no show” which means we never checked in - if this is true, the hotel is automatically entitled to charge my card that is saved on file the full amount for my stay. I raised this issue with the receptionist the following morning. I was told that the “manager” was not happy because we only paid for two days (we did exactly what they suggested) and because she heard we won’t be staying for 4 days which is what we had originally booked.

I left the hotel for the day, came back to find the “manager” near the reception. Once she saw my mum and I, she started speaking to the employees at reception in a DISGUSTING manner, telling them that she will deduct money from their salaries if I don’t pay more. As soon as I spoke up, she rushed out of the building and dipped.

Here’s the fun part - they changed the keys to our room, making the one that I had invalid. So we could not get our stuff. They quickly let us into the room when I started raising my voice. They tried to tell us that our key wasn’t working because we had our phones with us…make it make sense.

We were then told that the so-called “manager” is the owner’s daughter. Not sure what this has to do with running a business… Business is business - leave your bratty attitude at home and learn how to run a business. Dirty rooms AND disgusting management? Pick a struggle because that’s just embarrassing.

I honestly feel sorry for the employees who kept apologising for the “manager’s” poor attitude and lack of manners. She refused to speak to me which is extremely unprofessional. I don’t think this place will be in business for much longer if this poor excuse of a human stays there.

I will be taking this matter further. You picked the wrong person on...

When in a wedding: Waiters were slowww One waiter made funny noises when music turns to loud - He made little ones scared Waiters stack dishes over dishes till finally table turns into a big garbage can - you will stop “trying” to eat since first bite If you ask for oil, waiters will serve it for you however it will be after 20 minutes and in a disgusting oil dispenser which holds hand prints and grease; by the way, you will notice that the oil has lots of residues that you may encounter at the bottom of an old left oil bottle. And the waiter, of course, will be holding in one hand the horrible oil dispenser and a white (actually off white) small towel but off course will let you and your dress soak in oil. If you’ll ask for wine, the waiter will make your wine class full of his hand prints to the tip in addition to some extras like “baba ghanouj” or hummus - you will not drink from any glass afterwards The food itself is average They do not place any silverware in the plates which definitely risks the use of personal silverwares in the shared plates There are no bread plates or baskets, the waiter will deliver the Lebanese pita with his bear hands and place it anywhere on the disgusting existing pile If you ask for a fork, the waiter will handle it to you from the side you’re going to actually use for eating Waiters shout to each other from one side to the very end of the other one for long conversations When it was time for the main hot dish, the waiters held the hot dishes in one hand over a disgusting towel (white with black stains) and speaks over food asking if you want some or not - sooo disgusting Waiters will literally throw dessert plates in front of you; it’s like saying “eat it fast, we need to close and go back home” Many and many details can be actually shared and mostly about the service and the waiters cause everything else is actually (average) acceptable Bottom of the line, in case you’re not on budget and actually indifferent of the service quality you will get, you may go there and you’ll eat NOTHING due to disgust. In our case, what actually made our night were the people (our company) and the DJ (by the way, the designs in the project are good but this does not offset the core of the (and any) experience being the...

Very bad service & management . No safety NIGHTMARE STAY AT “LAYALI AL SHAMS” HOTEL ANJAR

What a shame for a reputable Hotel or what they call themselves as the famous Hotel in Anjar (LAYALI AL SHAMS HOTEL) I will tell my story to ring a bell for all who is thinking to visit this Hell hotel.

If anyone have children and is aware of them getting hurt, I urge you all PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM GO TO LAYALI AL SHAMS HOTEL located in ANJAR LEBANON.

I am writing this post based on personal experience that may had cost me and my family our lives due to the lack of organization and awareness in the hotel.

First of all i reserved a bungalow from ONE MONTH , upon arrival we found out that the AC was not working , they kept us for more than one hour to change our Bungalow. After receiving our Bungalow we went to the pool , at 4:30 pm they forced us to get out from the pool because of wedding preparation.( Till now it’s not a big deal )

At the wedding everyone likes to take pictures, my 11 years daughter got caught by electrical shock due to lack ok safety measures in the hotel, Thanks god due to fast response i was able to help her from definite death . And the funny thing was that Hotel management didn’t give any attention to what happened and after confront with the administration, no one held responsibility even they didn’t try to refund the amount paid.

PLEASE I URGE YOU ALL TO STAY SAFE AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR...

We where in Baalbek & could not find a suitable hotel there so we dicide to drive all the way to this area which felt far especially driving in the evening. Around 1 hour drive. Anyways, the hotel is 3 stars only but as soon as we arrived I could notice something amazing. I was so amazed about the size & decoration of the room. Very clean place ( by the way, I'm very picky on this topic hahhah) & I can say it is one of the best places I have stayed in in Lebanon till now. The staff are very nice. As soon we entered the room the guy went out & brought as a tray with a good size plate full of fruits & nuts. I did not see this in many places. We paid 80 $ for the stay which is very good price for such a place with breakfast. This town looks small but still there is a historical place to visit from AlOmawis Era. It will intersteing to see I guess as we were in Baalbek fort yesterday.

My stay at this bungalow was excellent the spring weather allowed for delightful barbecue nights. I highly recommend it. Opening the pool in May would attract more visitors. Al Shams restaurant, under the same company, offers delicious food. Mahdi at the restaurant provided exceptional service and even recommended our stay.

An amazing location that is very tranquil and peaceful. They have hotel rooms, bungalows as well as a dome room. The area is big and they do weddings and other events. The bungalows are nice but very compact and if you have issues with stairs, don’t book the bungalows as they have an upper deck with very steep inclines.
