Chaotic and headache-inducing are the terms I would use to describe my shortened stay at Chez Senga. I was due to stay for a week but cut it short after only two nights. The hotel is located in a very busy section of the beach where vendors nag and stray dogs fight and beg. There are no chairs to relax on the beach. Lumpy pillows and a thin, foam mattress. The only thing I actually liked was the restaurant food but I just couldn’t tolerate the cigarette smoke. It’s a covered roof on the beach and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. Everyone smoking including the owner all day and night. I moved places at least three times during dinner trying to avoid the smoke. Both nights while trying to sleep I was woken up multiple times by the strong odour of cigarette smoke in my room. Someone was smoking on the grounds and the smell was coming straight into my room as it is an open concept building. If you are a non-smoker, health-conscious, have asthma or simply don’t like the smell of cigarettes I do not recommend. When I informed the management after the first night I was told it was abnormal. I decided to try a second night and after the same thing decided to book elsewhere further down the beach. When I informed management of my departure because of the cigarette smoke issue I was made to pay 2 nights on top of the 2 nights I already paid for, because they likely wouldn’t find anyone to replace me. Customer service zero once I told them I was leaving. Told the sum of my bill and that was it. If you’re looking for a relaxing beach stay with fresh sea air, look elsewhere....

Hotel:
Chez Senga is a lovely place at the quieter end of the bay.
The location at the beach is amazing and we enjoyed spending hours on our balcony or the restaurant’s terrace.
The rooms were very clean and cleaned every day. We also had fresh towels every day. Facilities in general are basic but spacy and offer everything you need. There is no AC but a fan in case it should be too warm. We traveled end of August to beginning of September and used the fan just once. In fact, we were very happy with the room and its temperature.
If you don’t want to spend significantly more money for a luxury hotel but want to stay at the beachfront, Chez Senga is the place to be!
Service:
The staff is very helpful and the owner even organized day trips and the taxi back to the airport for us.
Bar/Restaurant:
The food is super yummie!!! We had lunch and dinner several times and we always enjoyed the meals. The desserts are too good to be true.
Food and drinks come at a reasonable price, which makes Chez Senga a perfect beach bar and restaurant to spend time in. In combination with the location and its atmosphere we highly recommend this place even if you are not a hotel guest. Make sure you don’t miss the dessert (and thank...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights. The hotel is located on the beach, the dining area is just few meters away from the sea and rooms are located on the upper level. The owner is very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean and modern and all functions well. No hot water but you get used to the shower after a minute or so..even though I believe they have good protentional for using/installing solar water heaters. Five stars also goes for the restaurant great food for dinner and lunch. Breakfast could be slightly improved. Well done and keep up the...
