Karibo Restaurant — Restaurant in Nosy Be

Most disappointing experience of six weeks in Madagascar. Shortly before leaving we thought it would be a good idea to invite the family to a quality restaurant with great cuisine. Wish I had read the reviews beforehand, because from the first impression Karibo Restaurant looked like a really nice cosy place worth the extra money.

The napkins were all dirty, disgusting to wipe your lips with them (see photo) After being seated, it took the service half an hour to bring slowly the first drinks Food was finally served after over one hour Service didn’t care about our table, we had to call them to order more drinks, glasses have been empty for quite a while Zebu filet looked delicious, but it was a steak and not a tender filet (see photo) The duck liver was medium rare served, disgusting and not eatable at all (see photo) Service just shrugged it off, they didn’t care at all Fore one side dish, we had to ask three times before it was finally served after additional 30 min Nothing for digestion was offered, even though we spent over 400.000 MGA at this place Finally, we still have digestive problems 2 days later

There are so many better places, with lovely forward looking service and a fair price value. Of all the restaurants we visited in the last 6 weeks, this one the group agreed, was the worst experience and waste of time and money.

Dear Karibo team, place take this feedback as an opportunity to learn, reduce your prices and improve quality and service, until they are justified. Until then, we can’t give you more...

Karibo came highly recommended by two Italians we engaged with while on holiday in Nosy Be and we were sceptical given the mixed reviews, nothing could be further from what was an excellent meal as can be seen from the photos, staff super friendly, we shared a mixed seafood starter, had pasta, the highlight of which was the crayfish pasta, food was tasty and plentiful, while the restaurant was packed with Italians who came to eat, so clearly the restaurant attracts the right clientele, loved our evening out, with tuk tuk parking right upfront safely taking us the short trip to the restaurant from our...

Nous sommes venus une première fois, on a trouvé la cuisine excellente! Cependant, la serveuse a été nonchalante, pas souriante…lors de l’addition je laisse quand même la monnaie (4000ar) car je passe outre son comportement, je me dis que nous avons bien mangé qu’on est ne vacance qu’on passe du bon temps…et figurez vous qu’elle n’a même pas prononcer un merci ni un sourire. J’ai été tellement choquée et en même temps énervée même si on doit nous sommes d’accord que 4000ar ce n’est rien mais c’était plus pour le principe!!! Bref mon mari me dit de laisser tombé que elle a peut être des soucis… on poursuit la soirée. A savoir nous sommes en vacance pour 3 semaines, donc on y retourne une deuxième fois car on fait vite le tour des restaurants et pareil, on était sur la terrasse et pas d’effort pour faire le tour de monter les escaliers elle sert de la fenêtre d’en bas pour nous donner les plats les boissons etc…bref donc là je décide de mettre cet avis car c’est abusé!!! Par contre leurs plats leurs entrées sont délicieux seuls...
