De Leon Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

With the price below RM150/night, I think this is the best hotel to stayed in LD. With breakfast (combination of local dish, bread & cereal) can’t complain much. Plenty of parking space, close to eateries.

Walking distance to Golden Fish & Econsave supermarket. Sea just across the street with beautiful scenary.

Surprisingly, each room have complimentary peanuts, 3in1 nestum, coffee & 3in1 tea which 1@2 star rated hotel not normally do.

Need for improvement:

The wall seems fragile. I can feel the bed that lean to the wall bang my head while sleeping when the guest next to my room plug in the socket on the wall.

Room have a smoky smell. I think previous guest smoked in the room.

My room (superior king room) was big and clean, but smelled a bit weird, it might be the smell of the sanitiser. The building from inside is newly renovated (renovation is still in progress), the lobby looks very nice, the staff is nice and friendly, but they have no restaurant, no small bar, no lounge, nothing. And the most disappointing thing: I could smell in my room that someone(s) smoke in the corridor or somewhere close! It was crazy disgusting! Smoking is not allowed in the building, but unfortunately they cannot detect it, since there is no smoke detector, which...

This is my third year here for business trip. Each year staying up to 6 weeks. So far, I have observed a decrease in performance.

Rooms are clean except for the bed sheets and blankets. Hot shower but most of the rooms have poor drainage.

Service is below average but acceptable, not too frustrating given the price @ RM50 per night.

Breakfast is poor. They run out of food or water even close for the day and had to look for breakfast elsewhere but they do refund RM10.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here if it is not for my business trip (which was booked...
