This has got to be the hotel with the biggest room space I ever stayed in, it was massive.
Hotel Surrounding. Restaurants halal and non halal on your pick, grocery shops, coffee shops, supermarket, wet market, pharmacies, temple, mosque all within walking distance. Very convenient, also near to the seafront.
General. Hotel has lift or elevator to access upper floor. Hotel staffs very friendly and helpful. Room rate was cheap and value for your money.
About the room. Coded keycard to access the room, to activate electricity and room lightings.
Room size was massive, very clean and tidy, no weird odor or smell.
Door has a secure lock, a peeping hole, a functional secure latch. However, there was no emergency evacuation plan glued onto the door, so be sure to check where are the emergency exits are located, they could save your life in the event of evacuation.
Room has enough lightings to lit up doorway, bathroom, toilet, wardrobe cabinet area, and bedside but not work desk ( refer pix for lighting near work desk ). Has an emergency backup lighting, will not cover the whole room but at least not caught in the dark. Anyway is important to bring a torchlight just in case of power outage.
Has a big storage area for your luggages, not really a cabinet but a store room and clothes hanging. It has a luggage rack too. TV, AC blower with remote, a full size mirror, dustbins, cups, electric kettle, a small fridge, complimentary bottled water, instant coffee, chair, sofa and small table.
Has few power outlets but not located in ideal place, eg. Work desk do not have any and so is the bedside. Has a free functional Wi-Fi service with acceptable speed but signal strength can be better.
No safety box, no ironing board, no slipper, no hair dryer.
Non carpeted floor. Room was well maintained.
Bathroom and toilet. Combo style, very spacious. A single door with proper locking mechanism to access both, may not appeal to all.
Body towels, floor towel, shampoos, body soaps, showering mask, toilet roll are provided.
Has option for normal or hot shower, need to turn ON the heater switch if opt for hot. Water pressure was good enough for washing, brushing and flushing. Has an air ventilator mounted on the ceiling.
AC unit. Functional and quiet AC unit able to keep the room cool. Blower was well maintained and clean.
Experience. Fairly quiet at night, I was able to have a good night sleep. Bed/pillow/blanket was comfy and clean but room for improvement, especially the room soundproofing level.
Lastly. Would stay here again, definitely. Cheap, spacious, clean, cozy, convenience, value for money....
Read moreThe hotel is not so good. Location wise it is very good. Right in the center and only a few minutes from the airport. The rooms were poor and the hotel smelled very old. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom. The window in the room was very thin, meaning all sounds from outside can be heard. Lahad Datu is a relatively small town and does not have an extensive offer in hotels, but still I think a little cleaner and fresher is definitely possible. It must be said that the hotel rates are low. We paid 25 euros...
Read moreThe rooms are super spacious, with a sofa set. But that was the only plus point for me. The hotel is old, and it has not been refurbished. My bathroom sink leaked and it smelled bad, with insects hovering. The hotel is also not in a very convenient location. There are banks on the same street but you'll need to walk a bit to get food, or to go to a mart. And it's on a street that has vehicles passing at late hours so it's...
