Emart Hotel Miri (Riam) — Hotel in Borneo

Staying at this hotel for 2 nights 3 days. Booking via traveloka and way cheaper because got promo disc. Total for rm9+ for 2 nights. Not much expectations for a budget hotel but this hotel is really above it as we're looking for a hotel that has its own parking area. Parking area is big. You don't need to worry about parking at all.||This hotel is above emart riam. There's only 2 complimentary 500ml drinking water provided with water heater in the room. So, you just can walk downstairs to buy all the condiments n necessities you need.||The room is a bit small but match with the price. Still can walk around the bed. Tips if you need a space esp for muslims who need to pray, you can move the bed to the corner. I book a room with balcony and get the 1 with residential view. Bed is comfy and not directly facing the aircond. Unfortunately, there's limited tv channel. Only chinese tv channel is available.||No complaint too abt the bathroom. The hotel is situated above Emart Shopping Mall and surrounded by all types of businesses. You can find almost everything you need in one place. You can find eateries, laundry, supermarket and anything that a travellers need within 500 meter radius. The front office staffs are not so friendly and didn't greet the customers. When guests passed by the lobby/ reception area, they pretend to be busy and avoid eye contact with the guests. I stayed there for 3 nights and passed the lobby dozens of time but was never greeted even once. It's find with me, but this kind of attitude can give a negative image to foreigners. This is new budget hotel and much to be improved. The hotel is above a shopping centre and our car was stuck at the entrance to the upper floor car park which is the only access to the hotel lobby. The entrance is a loading bay so need to wait for about 20 minutes resulting need to pay more for taxi. The reception staff speak only Malay so guests who do not speak the same language may have problem. We arrive at 10 am but was told the standard check in time is 2 pm so check in earlier than that need to pay for one extra night. The hotel surrounding is dusty. Room towel is smelly so I recommend to bring own towel. No supply of toiletries except body wash of strange smell. There is limited supply of toilet paper and...
