Fairy Garden Resort — Hotel in Borneo

So I usually dont give bad review over the place i went/stay 😊 but this one 'Fairy Garden Resort Kundasang' is totally deserve this.. PRICE is quite high for the quality of services and accomodation. its not worth any penny.

So this hotel now is under OYO brand, Which supposed to be good and worth your money like other oyo brand hotel.. What do you expect when you come to hotel near Kinabalu Mountain or any mountain? Just a good nice sleep and hot water for shower.

So i didnt get hot water for shower but i get icy water for shower and this is the worst experience i got from this hotel on my business trip (and thats not only the issue) . Usually i dont choose to stay in this hotel based on my experience, it was last 10 yrs ago. Never repeat my stay in this hotel due the accomodation issue too.

Then on the day the incident happen, their staff did came to our room for like 3 times to check the heater condition. Ask us to wait for 30 min, ask us to do that, to do this. We've done all their request. The water heater still not hot. The maintenance boy itself said there's something wrong on 306 room heater (the boy said other room heater temp is 80C, while just our room is at 30C temp. Then for the last time they ask me and my children to use another used room toilet (which i dont care much) to settled down my bathing (where i stuck with my hair full with shampoo and soap, move to another used room toilet desperately with just covered with towel) , which i did without complaining until i found they gave me dirty used toilet with residual poo(baki tahi) on the floor. So i feel stupid with their act and ask for 20%/30% refund from my room rates. But their respond to me is i dont know how to use the water heater (im a business person-i work/outstation a lot which i stay a lot at too many random hotel/resort/room/guesthouse with many type of shower/water heater) 😊 and i really dont like this girl who talking harsh to customer on phone since before i check in and after i check out. And they said will pass to oyo about my refund but still insist their heater was okay (after their staff themself did check 3 times over the heater condition) . So i wait until i call oyo myself and said the hotel did not pass any of my complain to oyo and oyo said they also dont take any responsible for the heater problem due to they only covered other issue which not included hot water/heater issue. I dont really mind about that. But i do mind that my money wasted on this hotel. The service was bad, the accomodation same like the old time, the faulty affect my stay which wasting my time for like 1-2hrs , and so troublesome. the girl who talking with me was too harsh which u really not suitable to be in front line facing customer issue. Hope u make it right for another guest. Thanks for the nightmare! Thank you for this and my kid got fever after...

It' a "motel" not a resort. Its located 1.6 km from Mt. kinabalu National park and 4.2 km to Kundasang town. This is not a place for zen time or to see nice view but if you're looking for a place to hunker down and off with an exciting expedition the next day then it can be an option. Its built on the lower side of the hill next to the mainroad.There's ground floor,1st and 2nd floor. The 2nd floor is leveled with the mainroad with an access bridge. The building is made of light thin material and floors are made of woods. So unless you want to make your presents known, walk like a Ninja. If you are coming with an elderly choose the rooms at the 2nd floor (saved you the stairs) and choose the rooms facing the valley away from the mainroad (the vehicles aren't Teslas).The rooms are clean. Water heaters are good but I did hear from next door the theirs isn't working. So bemindful of that. There's no kettle jug provided. So bring yours. The "stairs" to ground floor where the restaurant and front desk is located is very steep so be very careful esp those with small kids and elderly. There is not much you can see from the 2nd floor room verandah as the trees have matured and are tall but still its good place to chill out and have yourself a cold beer before hitting the bed. For info there are no verandah for the rooms at the 1st floor. The food in restaurant is surprisingly really good. Infact there are lots of other visitor staying from other location coming over to have their meal here. So strategize your timing. Or you'll end up waiting for quite sometime. The wifi is bad. You can only get the signal in the restaurant. Digi is not available in this location. Maxis yes..not sure of other...

This Hotel was so nice with panoramic view Ni the early morning. It is located about 1 an half hours form Kota Kinabalu Airport.

I was found this hotel on OYO app. If you plan to have an overnight here your are so lucky since this hotel also located nearby Kundasang where you can visit a few locations that will full your vocation.

There is no air-conditioning unit install in side every singgle room since this place quite cold the temperature about below 20 centre digress.

If you finding the hotel with parking facilities in this area, this hotel will provide quite wide car park area and sure you will keep vehicle no safety condition since the parking lot very far form main road.

Besides, you can have a beautiful landscape in the morning as well as evening. It was romantic view where you can have a few shoot of photography. So, this hotel also quite nice for honeymoon at the quit budjet hotel.

At the lower floor of this hotel, you can see a large restaurant where can fit for about 100 people in singgle time. This is can give you best option why should you stay here since there are to difficult to find dinner in this area.

If you want to heald an event, this hotel and restaurant may among the best place in this area since they are loaded of facilities.
