Kundasang Mount Garden — Hotel in Borneo

Don't believe the nice exterior!! We have just been scammed by this accomodation!! We booked a caravan room for 3 days 2 nights recently through Agoda and it was the worst experience for us! The management didn't inform us during check-in that the room has alot of issues as most appliances are spoilt. We only got to know about it when we did the checks ourselves!😡 When we informed the staffs, they said they are aware about it but they cannot do anything. When we asked for the boss of the accomodation, they claimed there is no boss! How can that be, right?? Nobody that overlooks the entire operation?? Then we tried to contact the person whom we liased with before we checked in, a few attempted calls and messages but no reply! We made hell of a noise for a change of room and they still have the cheek to tell us that we have to top up money for change of room. Then after that, they suddenly claim that its full house so no spare room for us. WTH!!! Its their damn fault for not being honest in the first place and now they don't even bother to offer us any solution! When we finally managed to get hold of the person in charge, the lady casually ask us about wanting the refund! Excuse me?? You have caused inconvenience to us by not being honest and not even an apology being given😡 Where the hell is your professionalism and manners?? Treating guests of your accomodation like rubbish! Totally unacceptable!! So please be wary and avoid totally booking at this place..especially the caravan room. We solely put the blame on the accomodation and not Agoda for this hiccup as Agoda is just a platform for accomodation owners to advertise their business. Its solely the responsibility of accommodation owners to be professional and transparent in whatever they are advertising for booking! Hiccups do happen but being dishonest is...

Booked this place for a quick night stop before heading to KK. The room was okay for the price. Read the description in Trip.com it says the front desk service is 24/7 (it's hard to find 24/7 homestay reception counter in Kundasang so I make the reservation immediately). Contacted the property to inform them that I will be late check in just to make sure I have a smooth check in process later when I arrived. Then I was told that they will put my room key in a self check in box. I asked whether there will be an instructions they gonna send to me for the self check in process and the person in the chat said no. "It's just a simple pull out box with the guest name on it and the room key will be inside" that's what they told me. When I arrived there were NO KEY BOX TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE!! I even search all the cabinet drawers like some kind of thief !!!! It was rainy and windy and I even walked from the reception counter to the hill where their homestay units are located just to find the keybox that they mentioned. Called them few times and no one answered. I was freezing and wet searching around for 30minutes until there was this 1 staff came out with her sleepy face walked to the counter to assist me for check in. I asked her where is the keybox that they mentioned earlier in the chat and she said "we didn't put your room key in the keybox yet" (the person that i contacted was not her but one of the property owner). This is just my opinion with my recent stay with them

Firstly, the location is quite alright. From the roundabout (coming from National Park, take 3rd exit), it's not too far away. Road could definitely benefit from repair. Once there, it's a steeeep climb up to the parking lot (there are also a few slots just before the gate)

The place from the outside looks nice, well kept plants, and there's a camper van at the site (quite small looking)

Inside the unit that we stayed in, we were slightly disappointed that there wasn't a refrigerator or a hair dryer. It is very basic for our unit... kettle, 2 teabags, 2 cups, 2 towels, a small packet of shampoo and soap. There is a ceiling fan for those warmer afternoons

When I look behind the curtains, the walls have slight mold on it, as is on the ceiling. May not pose any issues for healthy individuals...though... :( There are mosquito screens in our unit. However, those little *uckers still managed to get in
