For me, it’s enough to have a place to sleep and rest. The accommodation has two bedrooms, a kitchen, one toilet, a living room, a BBQ area, and a balcony where you can watch the sunrise. A short walk allows you to witness the magnificent Mount Kinabalu in its full glory, and a quick drive takes you to the nearest market.
Most of the time, we cooked our meals, and the kitchen utensils provided were sufficient for us. The toilet, however, is quite small, and the key doesn’t function properly. The toilet seat is a bit tricky—it’s lower than usual, which caused us to almost trip a few times. Still, it has warm water, and that’s more than enough for me.
What I love most about this place is the balcony. I could sit there, enjoy a cup of Milo, and take in the sunrise or the stars at night. From the balcony, you can catch a glimpse of Mount Kinabalu’s peak. If you walk a bit further, you’ll see the breathtaking view of the morning sun casting its light on the mountain.
