Mega Inn is an unassuming and seemingly uninviting small motel, consisted of a few units of 4-storey shoplots. I found this hotel after most of the mid-priced hotels are fully booked due to the long gawai holidays. At first sight, I am sure most potential customers would be turned off by its old unattractive facade and awkward location. Nearby there are various eateries which offer local cruisines, one even operating 24/7, pharmacies and a laundry. There are various types of room, though limited in numbers that cater for a single traveller, couple or family. The rooms are sufficiently furnished, though rather old but decent. There is hot water for showering. However, for those needing a quiet and private stay, please be informed that the walls are rather thin. Additionally, to make matters worse, the cleaners / housekeepers are noisy and have no decency or courtesy to respect guests that are still sleeping. There are plenty of carparks along the streets surrounding the hotel but are subjected to parking fees imposed by the local council, On a positive note, the hotel is clean with friendly and helpful receptionists. We do the laundry next door, highly convenient. Big plus are the room rates, which are very reasonably priced. And if you become a member, which costs only RM20, you can get a discount of RM10 per night. For those travelling on a budget, Mega Inn is...
Read morethe hotel is situated between the airport and the city's waterfront. it took less than 10 mins to reach either places from here. the lobby area is clean and there is also a water purifier just by the lift. a hand basin is just next to it. we got our rooms on the second floor, a triple and a quadruple with really basic needs - dressing table, coffee table (2 bottled waters even though it is a triple or quadruple room), beds and ensuite bathroom/toilet. only 2 towels even though there are 3 or 4 of us in the room. luckily we brought our own towels and toiletries. the room smelt of old furniture but luckily, the bed is comfortable with soft pillows. my other friends who stayed in the quadruple room experienced bed bugs bite. other than that, everything else is fine. food is conveniently available just at the corner and the back of the hotel, all walking distance and there is also a supermarket next door. don't forget to have some parking coupons with you if you are driving as this hotel does not provide free parking. the parking coupons are divided into 20 sen, 50 sen and 80 sen (mon-fri, 8am-5pm). best to have all three types if you are parking more than 1.5 hours. the parking summons officers are...
Read moreThis is my first day checking in with my family, and I even had my grandfather that has walking difficulties. First, the lift is damaged. When you consult the housekeeper, she said that she can do nothing and not sure when it could be resolved. ||Then when we reached the room, the room has no water. When we consult the housekeeper, she said that she is not sure why. And get us to bare with it impolitely (attitude problem) if we wanted to continue the stay. If we do not want, no refund!!!||Next I told her that I wanted to request for extra key and she told me that she did not have one. Then when I asked how she could assist me, she told me "ketuk aja pintu tok sampai buka ja.. ini jak saya boleh bagi taw (just knock the door it opens)". I seriously surprise and asked if she thinks appropriate to do so, then she said "iya la.. ini hotel budget ba, bukan hotel mewah.. memang rosak sana sini (yes.. this is a budget hotel no luxurious hotel.. so it is normal to have damage here and there..)||One word to sum up is that this hotel is the worst...
