We stayed 3 days 2 nights at Avillion Admiral Cove, Port Dickson with my kids, and overall it was a lovely family getaway! 🌊
The hotel is beautifully located right on the seafront — clean, swimmable beach and close to town. Parking is easy and convenient. There are plenty of outdoor activities provided by the hotel with minimal fees. Part of the pool was under maintenance during our stay, but still usable, and my kids had so much fun. Compared to my last visit before MCO, the hotel looks a bit run down, but with some maintenance it could shine again.
The staff deserve special mention — Amy, Naufal, Nurin, and Ammar showed great hospitality throughout our stay. Thank you for the warm service!
Our room (1816) was spacious with a beautiful seaview. It had 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed, plus a sliding partition between the bedroom and living area — very convenient for families. The small pantry with sink was a big help for preparing milk and simple meals for my little one. Room entertainment was just average, but honestly, we spent most of our time outdoors anyway.
On the first night, we couldn’t sleep due to insect bites (I had several marks and my son too). I reported it the next morning, and housekeeping quickly changed the bedsheets and cleaned the room — after that, no more problems and we slept well. Appreciate the quick response!
Breakfast buffet was enjoyable. We had two mornings — one weekday (heavy rain) and one weekend (good weather). The weekend spread was definitely better with more variety and outdoor counters. Dining with a seaview was such a nice experience, though a few crows around — harmless but noticeable. The only thing missing was a custom omelette station; currently, omelettes are pre-made and served from a tray. It would be great if guests could request their preferred toppings (like cheese or onions) in future, as that’s something many hotels offer.
The bathroom, however, could use some upgrading — the rest of the room feels 4–5 star, but the bathroom looks 2 star with mold stains and a few broken parts on the door and ceiling. Water pressure was excellent though! A quick maintenance touch-up would make a big difference. We also found the shower gel bottle empty upon check-in, but room service refilled it once informed. After a couple of small incidents (insects and shower gel), I think the housekeeping team could benefit from a bit more quality control and training.
Overall, despite a few hiccups, we had a pleasant stay and felt it was good value for the price. With a little maintenance and service improvement, Avillion Admiral Cove can easily return to its former glory. We’ll definitely consider coming back again. Thank you for the...
Read moreIt was my second time here, my first stay was a few years ago when i got to stay in executive room at the View Wing, where all the yachts and cruises were parkly directly outside and it was right above the swimming pool. However, this time it was Vista Wing (same type of room), but was further away from the main facilities and best view.
Overall was ok except that there were stained liners, pillow cases and bedsheets on our king sized bed. We didn't notice until it was bedtime (around 12am), and unable to change it as housekeeping service was unavailable. However, the receptionist did offer to give us a fresh liner and blanket to lay on top of the existing one.
Not so sure if the housekeeping didn't change the liners, or it was stubborn stain that couldn't be washed away easily. Be it the former or latter reason, it was quite disappointing given the price (rm500/night, Sunday followed by a public holiday on Monday). Didn't manage to take photos because i was too tired from my trip.
Didn't get to use the swimming pool this time as there was a drowning accident in the evening on my first day there (which made me question the safety of their facilities because there was no life guard on duty, which was claimed "normal" in hotels). They have both a kid sized and an adult pool, all less than 1.2m if I've remembered correctly.
Breakfast was so so. Typical Malaysian hotel breakfast.
There were only 2 lifts in the lift lobby for each wing. Might need to wait longer if it's crowded.
Parking capacity was okay, but there was limited parking within the building itself so we had to park outside (a designated open area) where street lights were limited as well. It didn't feel safe (especially for women) to park in the total darkness at night.
There were benches and pavements around the hotel, where you could watch sunset, take nice photos, and enjoy the sea breeze.
Accessible to grab services. All eateries (including pasar malam) are within 30mins including the traffic jam. If you are looking for Chinese cuisines, it will all be located at Lukut, which is about 40mins drive from the hotel.
Walkable distance to the beach (just right beside the hotel parking). Well maintained, very clean and not so crowded. There were a few camping spots on the beach with public toilets and some food trucks. The water...
Read moreBelow are the points I have experienced during my stay:
Definitely, they have lost their charm compared to their previous legacy era. I have stayed at their property before and came back due to outstanding services and reviews but unfortunately it’s not the case anymore.
The level of quality and quantity of the price we have paid, definitely far below the expectations (OVERPRICED).
I wish you best of luck and thank you...
