We stayed in a Deluxe room for two nights. The reason for choosing this guest house is due to its strategic location. The guest house is within walking distance to Gua Kelam and also a short drive to Wang Kelian View Point. The guest house is located at the village of Kaki Bukit (old mining town in Perlis). There are few rows of shops and houses populated by Chinese. We had our breakfast and lunch (Chinese and Thai food) in Kaki Bukit before travelling to other parts of Perlis. ||||The air-conditioned Deluxe room with two big windows is spacious for two adults. Room amenities include complimentary bottle water, writing desk and chair, tea/coffee making facilities with electrical kettle, cloth hangers and luggage storage area. The ensuite bathroom consists of washing basin, mirror, toilet, standing hot/cold shower and body towels. Toiletries such as soap, bath gel and toilet paper are provided. There are two power outlets in the room for charging electrical gadgets. The location of these outlets is near the writing desk. ||||We made room reservation by contacting the person-in-charge via WhatsApp. Room payment may be made via cash, online bank transaction or Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet. Room deposit is required during booking process. The balance may be paid during check-in or check-out. The check-in time is at 2:00PM and check-out time is at 12:00PM. When we arrived, we called the person-in-charge for the room key. On-site parking is available. There is a communal area for dining and relaxing. Overall, we recommend this place for those with...
Read moreThey call Cave of Darkness (Gua Kelam). It's free for entrance fee. They put a notice "Don't ask for charges..If you ask you will be charged" I think.. they want to prevent tourists from being cheated. Look attractive place with the flora around the cave and river flow coming out from the cave. We noticed that, the only way to come out from the cave is you have to return back from the same way you come in through the cave. If i'm not mistaken, the distance of cave path about ~ 340m. You have to go through a rather dark and narrow bridge for both directions while listening to the rush of water in the cave. Plus the water drip from the stalactites of limestone cave. Sometime it feel terrifying but feel quite cold along in the cave that make you feel better. You can swim with your kids whether before the cave or after go through the cave (There is bathing port before and after the cave). Unfortunately, I forgot to take the picture from my own phone to sharing..According the people who have been here before, It only has a small trail where there is almost no water for bathing...
Read moreWe came to the site of the homestay with our 2 dogs, the friendly manager allowed us to stay and use the facilities but using our tent and for a very reasonable price. We were pleased at first. The lady, Jessie, was also very helpful as far as discovering the area was concerned with tips. We even had a good chat with her in the early evening. It all started going wrong after 10:30pm. First, the owner (as we were told after) came to site with his friends and started to be very loud and disruptive. First time, I actually experience a owner being much louder than guests. They eventually left by 11:30. By that time, the clients of the next door bar/restaurant became very noisy and till 2am. To complete this terrible night, at 5am, the only other guests woke up came around, waking us up one more time. So we probably only had a couple of hours of sleep all together. Not a...
