Big John Scuba Mabul Island — Hotel in Sabah

Had a great time on Mabul with the help of the Big John’s team. Staff and DM Roy was friendly and my friends and I felt very welcomed. The stay was clean and comfortable. Basics were taken care off plus some luxuries like clean towels and toiletries provided. Food was great too!

Tap water was slightly tricky but nothing we cant overcome. Heated water only available from 6-7pm and on other times, water was slightly salty. But nothing like that could stop me from giving 5 stars. Other than that, I wish the dive stay was kept separate from casual visitors who came in large droves. They really made the stay almost unbearable. But anyways, we like Big John to stay in business so I guess thats what they needed. Thanks Roy!...

I stayed at Big John in Mabul Island for 3 days for my PADI certification. The rooms are confortable, there is plenty of food and drinks during the meals. Free coconuts and fresh fruit at all times. Mark and Roy were amazing dive instructors! I recomend to everyone the island hop day trip you will see many wonderful islands and sea gipsy villages and help Big John's staff delivering some food to this people that live with very few resources.
