Always Wanted To Visit Semporna To Experience The Water House & Due To Current Pandemic ,The Price Of Water House In Symptoms Has Decrease Significantly Compare To Last Time When Semporna Is Full of China Tourist. Well Still Cant Afford The Expensive Kapalai Or Mabul Water Bunglows , (Even At Discounted Promo It Still Crazy Expensive) ! There Still Plenty Of Local Operate Water House Choices. Make Some Research & Enquiry Online & Finally Choosen Maglami-lami Waterhouse ! 3Days 2Night Package With Full Board Meal , Afternoon Tea & Return Boat Transfers ! ||Boat Pick Up On Time At The Dodgy Semporna Public Jetty At 2.00pm & After 30min Speedboat Ride The Beautiful Waterhouse Appears ! ||Check In Was Simple & The Staff Were Friendly Enough. Assign To The Newer VIP Chalet, The Room Is Clean, Tastefully Furnished, Has A Toilet With A Bucket To Fill In Fresh Water For Shower. My Room Balcony Is Facing The Sunrise View Deck ! The Only Thing I Do Not Like Is The Latex Pillow, Is Hard And Very Uncomfortable For Me To Sleep . Electricity is 6pm to 6-7am.||The Waterhouse Location Is Actually Very Good. Facing Directly To Bohey Dulang. And Also Keep Some Distance From Other Waterhouse Nearby ! Super Calm, Breathtaking Surrounding View & The Water Is Super Clear ! Theres Many Starfish & Small Fish Swimming Around The Waterhouse . During Low Tide (Around 12pm to 5pm) The water is shallow enough to walk around the waterhouse with life jacket provided (foc). That's good for people who can't swim like me to enjoy the water ! Snorkeling Equipment (RM15) , Fin (RM10) For Daily Rental. Transparent Kayak Is RM50 (p.hour)||Each Side Of The Water House There Is A Viewing Platform For Sunrise And Sunset ! During My Stay Sunset Was Blocked By Clouds But Manage To Catch The Sunrise Everyday at 5.50am And It's So Beautiful ! ||The Only Let Down Were The Food Offered Onboard. Me & Another Couple Checked In Together Were Disappointed With The Meal Everyday, Chicken, Fried Kankung , Pumpkin & Sardin Fish For Dinner & Lunch , Same Menu . Breakfast Only Plain Fried Rice (Or Noodles) ,Fried Egg & Sausage, Plain Bread With Kaya. So Called Afternoon Tea Just A Fried RedBean Donuts. The Staffs Are Also Eating Together With The Guest So We Joked That We Are Eating The Staff Meals LOL ! ||We Also Saw A Giant Turtle Swim Around The Resort During Dinner Time Everyday & It's Amazing !||The Waterhouse Is Still Planning For Expansion And Currently They Are Making A New Bridge & Arrival Deck !||Other Than The Meal Issue, I Still Have A Memorable Stay In Maglami-Lami Waterhouse & I Will Not Hesitate To Go Back Again Soon If The Price Is Still...

Unfortunately for us, we had a horrible stay. We were aware of the basic amenities but it was alot less than we desired and hospitality was poor if not absent. We stayed for only one night. Not worth the money, we paid about RM300 for one night (booked through airbnb), plus rm200 for boat there and back (RM50 per person each way, there was 2 of us), total is RM500. I felt we could stay in one of the other nearby water houses or at the town for better amenities and hospitality. LOCATION - accurate to description, in the middle of the sea, facing boheydulang. CHECK IN - waited at jetty, host was 30mins late but we can understand because there was a major festival at the time (Regatta Lepa Lepa) however pick up host was not friendly, not smiling at all. Dropped us off at the place and collected our money then we never saw him again. HOSPITALITY - During our stay, we only saw 2 other staff, both did not attempt to greet us, only coming out when serving food, not smiling. FOOD - Food was very basic. 2 vegetables, 1 fish dish and 1 chicken dish for dinner. Chicken and vegetables were ok but fish tasted funny. We had an upset tummy after that, loose bowels for the next 3 days. BATHROOM - no showerhead, bucket of water and a smaller bucket with handle for shower. No soap/shampoo. BEDROOM - we were aware that the room would have basic amenities and have read the earlier reviews and thought that it will be cool enough to sleep at night with the sea breeze but it was actually unbearably warm, there was no breeze at all for a few hours that night and lots of mosquitoes. The room was too warm to be in during the day. The thin blanket given gave us an itch. It will be much nicer if there was at least a small fan. Power generator starts at 6pm and it is fairly loud at night, difficult to sleep. It seems that they were constructing/renovating a room next to ours, banging and hammering noises started at 6am which woke us up from what was a poor night's sleep anyway. AMENITIES - electricity only from 6pm to 6am. no wifi but local data plan works fine. Kayak boat - rental fee is RM30 per hour. Snorkel gear also requires a fee to use. No option of buying other drinks. They only provide plain water, black tea bags and instant coffee. Will be nice if they had canned drinks, coconuts or other...

Paradise unbound....worth a million stars

I don't have words to describe this. I'm in love🙏💙. I only want to say that before this, I had never experienced anything like it. The place, the setting, the people, the sea and breeze that wash your face 24/7... Unbelievable, unforgettable. Since coming back I have only been thinking how to return to this place as soon as possible. My soul cries after Maglami and I've been touched forever. Just one note, I hate to do that but I have to because among us are people who can't or don't know how to appreciate beauty of nature and ocean in its full. Yes, the accommodation is basic - BUT absolutely fantastic. Fantastic bed and sleep I had! Bucket for shower - loved it, living like a local! Clean and fresh water. No shampoo or shower gel, well it's on the sea, bring your own (no big deal) but don't overuse it, it goes to the water anyway. Fan is provided but for me it was unnecessary. Sleeping with the door closed and escaping the freshness or night ocean breeze would be a sin. Watching sunrise upon waking up and hearing the waves gently splash around? Jumping to the sea from your private deck? Observing star fish from your door? OMG, addictive material. The family keep improving the place every day so it's only going to be better and better. But I hope the natural vibe and rudimentary style will be kept because that's what makes it unique. And the fact that they are involved in educating locals about preserving the ocean is indeed a fantastic bonus. I feel blessed to have been included too, even if so briefly. Hospitality of these people is amazing too.

This place made me want to drop everything and stay there forever. Learn fishing or I don't know. Join sea Bajau, whatever 😀 If at some point you feel something is not right, just stop for a minute, look out the door, breathe the salty air and say a little prayer, because if God hasn't been here in person to give this place a veil of heaven, then I'll be doomed. I'm still shivering when writing this review. Terima kasih Maglami. Tempat tercinta...

We stayed at Maglami for 4 days and 3 nights. The scenery is truly beautiful, and snorkeling was amazing with large areas of coral to explore. This is definitely a budget-friendly water villa, and I came knowing there was no hot water, so I had no complaints about the environment or the basic facilities. However, at around €150 per night, I expected at least the most basic level of service and a water villa that doesn’t leak. Check-in was smooth, and we had booked a VIP villa. I noticed another VIP villa was empty and asked if we could move there since the price was the same. I was told it was reserved for upcoming guests, so we accepted and stayed in our assigned villa. That night, a storm hit, and we woke up to find our bed and sheets wet because of a leak in the ceiling. It wasn’t pouring, but the constant dripping made it very uncomfortable. We had to use a plastic bag to catch the water. The next day we reported it, and someone patched the leak. After that, we asked for cleaning, but instead of cleaning our villa again, we were suddenly moved to the other VIP villa we had originally requested (which turned out to be empty after all…..). This left us quite confused. Other than a short “sorry” WhatsApp message, we did not receive any form of compensation or gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. Overall, the views are beautiful and it’s very peaceful, but don’t expect much in terms of service.

Amazing place. First of all, take note this is not a luxury over water lodge but personally it's not too bad either. It's indeed quite basic but suitable for budget travelers who doesn't plan to stay all day in room. Price wise I think this is one of the lower priced over water accommodation you can find around the area (make sure to book directly with them) but for me it's perfect enough. Me and my group had triple room with fans and that's comfy enough. The bathroom is alright with pretty strong water pressure. There are plenty of electrical outlets in the room and enough for each of us. The balcony offers nice view (either sunrise or sunset), windy and cozy area to chill at. Food was great and tasty, it's mostly local varieties and sufficient enough to fill our tummy all day. We didn't have lunch at the place as we're out for our arranged activities. Staff was truly awesome, super friendly and attentive, not to forget their cute two kitties. Lastly, the area and water around this place is simply breathtaking. Crystal clear shallow water that is perfect for a swim. There are areas with corals near the main lobby which is nice to snorkel around. You can get life jacket and snorkel mask for free at the reception while for fins and kayak you will need to rent them. Overall, a good stay and worth a return.

I stayed here with my family, on my first trip to Sempurna. Had high expectations after seeing a lot of pics from Sempurna and they did not disappoint. The check in and drop off were seamlessly arranged. They also helped arrange our tour while we were there. The first day we went sea walking and the next day we went island hopping with a good amount of time spent snorkelling. There are also activities arranged near the water house, we did a bit of kayaking around the water house. The rooms are clean. The staff are very kind and helpful with good karaoke and music after dinner. Being in the sea, the sea food served during the buffet dinner was really good. This is a good place to take fabulous photos and also to soak in the goodness of the sea and nature. Sempurna was a lovely place, and I met a lot of interesting people. It's not crowded like KK and therefore you get to really enjoy all the sea activities at a pace we find good. The people like all in south east Asia are very kind, welcoming and warm. I'm sure I won't have any second thoughts to choose Maglami-lami Waterhouse if we ever plan another trip to lovely Sempurna.
