The Grand Hotel has nothing "Grand" and we really should have cancelled when we still couldbecause it was a nightmare right from the beginning : The room was at $30 and but when we have completed the booking there were additional $6 taxes = $36 and then, after we had completed the paiement online $36 became $41 and instantly had been changed on Maleysian currency being MYR 171 (+36% from the initial price, turned very expensive) None given explanation. That’s called extorsion! ||Arrived to the airport, the shuttle supposed to pick us up wasn’t there, we have waited for an hour looking for it and when we finally found the car, the maniac driver was pissed and rude.||Unlike what we could read the pick up service isn’t free, they charge MYR 15 for pick-up and MYR 26 for drop off (2pax) + MYR 10 taxes.||At the hotel we found out once again unlike some reviews say there is NOTHING around to eat except a disgusting indian restaurant, the area is very seedy and scary, sourrounding by warehouses and closed shops. The new mall mentioned in some reviews is at 10 mn drive !||The clerk and the driver were so displeasing and unhelpful, we needed to charge our phones but the outlets didn’t fit so we called for help and as a despicable jerk he just spat that it’s not his problem and he is busy!!! ||The room was simple but very smelly and full of mosquitos, worse, all night long we could hear through the walls anyone flushing, turning the tap on or taking a shower it was unbearable, moreover, in the middle of the night some new arrivals were chatting loudly in the hall, we had to yell for them to stop, we couldn’t sleep the whole night!||Icing on the cake, the breakfast was as disgusting as everything about this place, mix of either cold and dry rice or sketchy noodle (it was indicated american breakfast when we booked, one more lie), the loony driver said eat or leave! We were so happy to leave early in the morning. We’d never met nasty people like them, they actually don’t give a damn about their customers and have nothing to do in Hospitality!!! That place is a huge scam and if i could pay $100 to shut it down i would, for the...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for a over night stay to catch a early flight the next morning, previously this hotel had, had excellent reviews, but recently gone down hill, and I have to say we was disappointed, we’d confirmed our pick up the day before with flight details etc, all was good but when we got to arrivals & the pick up point, nobody was there we waited 45mins before calling them to be told he was on he’s way & traffics was bad, then after 1hour the driver finally turned up, we was then told we’d missed our pick up slot & they only pick up & drop off on the hour!!!! Which was never mentioned to us before, then we tried to confirm our drop off back to the airport (which we’d confirmed back in May & the day before) to be told we couldn’t get on the shuttle bus because it was full, so we said we’d leave a hour earlier then we needed to be told that that shuttle was also full, so we had to settle for a taxi which wasn’t a problem, but I think more organisation needs to put in place, the girl on reception was apologetic with the experience we’d received with the pick up & drop off.||The room was ok, few mosquitos which had been mentioned on a few reviews so we had mozzie spray to hand (luckily no bites)||Breakfast was ok a few cereals, rice, bread, coffee & tea.||Overall was a reasonable hotel but disappointing with the pick up & drop off service, just be careful...
Read moreStayed here for 1 night, waiting for long haul flight to UK. Picked up at the airport by a maniac driver. He seemed to think it was our fault that we were slow getting through immigration. It is not our fault that they finger print everyone. It took 3 minutes per person to complete all the procedures, so a queue of 10 people is 30 minutes. KL is a big airport to get through. He then was insisting to take us back to the airport the following morning 1 hour before we wanted to go. We had to be very assertive to get the correct pick up time.||leaving the hotel to sitting in the Business Class lounge took a total of 50 minutes.||We find it very difficult to make any positive comments about this place.||The room stunk of drains. There was a plug in air freshner in the room so that was a clue. It had its fair share of mosquitoes. Only 1 cup and no tea or coffee.||The bathroom was acceptable, but we think it had been recently refurbished. Nothing on TV.||The "bistro" was closed. As were most of the buildings nearby.||We thought it was a very shady area, full of dodgy characters.|| The hotel was noisy until about midnight when flights seemed to cease. This place has nothing...
