Stayed for 3D2N for a business event at the same hotel.||||Room||Pros:||- spacious room||- tv selection is good. tv is clear as well (some hotel's tv are not clear)||- spacious bathroom||- sejadah is provided||- iron & ironing board provided in each room||- aircond works well||- housekeeping were efficient||- technician was also quick and efficient||- great selection for breakfast buffet||- hot water is available throughout our stay||||Cons:||- upon arrival, the carpet were quite dirty, we even found a used cigarette butt but housekeeping was quick to respond to our call||- we were placed in the "new" wing. dont expect it to be new, because it still smells and looks like 10 year old place||- when we first entered the bathroom, and used the sink, there's a lingering sewage smell for a few minutes. a bit unpleasant, but it goes away after awhile||- dont expect for sparkling white towels. not sure if this is what they chose, but their towels are a little grey-ish. we first thought their towels are dirty. they are clean but not white.||- no face towels. only bath towels.||- no shower caps||- though breakfast selection was great, they could improve on taste as some were a tad too salty||- checking in was quick. however, when we arrive, nobody was there to greet us, to help with the bags, to show us the reception area. we dont expect 5 star treatment of course, but at least have someone to ask if we are checking in and which way we should go. mind you, the front desk was empty, it looked like an empty counter, which was why we didnt know which way to go at first.||||Function Room||Pros: very spacious||||Cons:||- aircond was too cold. we could either switch off or on, we cant control the temperature||- we couldnt inspect the room before the program, therefore we couldnt rectify or change certain aspects before our program. we had to do it the morning before, which caused some chaos as participants were already coming in, and we were busy rearranging some of the tables and chairs.||- banquet staff is a bit slow in responding to our request, in clearing the f&b area (caused some flying insects to fly around the f&b area and the seminar room as well), in attending to our complaints about the aircond. however, when they do arrive. they were very helpful. ||- lunch for seminar participants lacks selection. no coffee provided during lunch too. (seriously? some people live on coffee)||- please improve the projector & projector screen facilities in your function room. it is time to install a built in system instead of the old-school portable ones. ||||Others:||There is no business center in the hotel. The room is...
Read moreI recently stayed at Permai Hotel in Kuala Terengganu for four days and three nights on a work-related trip. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon checking in, I was given a room that was still occupied by another guest. Thankfully, I rang the bell before attempting to enter, avoiding an awkward situation. The second room I was assigned had a malfunctioning shower with water pressure slower than a child’s urine. Despite my complaints, the reception insisted that all rooms were fully booked and there was nothing they could do.
Finally, the manager intervened and provided a third room. This room was even worse, with barely any water pressure, a non-functional air conditioner blowing hot air, and an overall decrepit appearance with a musty, wet plaster ceiling and green-stained walls. The room was so uncomfortable and uninviting, but considering the previous options, it seemed to be the "best" available.
I called the reception again, and they sent a maintenance guy who tried to fix the air conditioner. He assured me it would cool down, but upon returning from work in the evening, the room felt like a mini oven. By then, it was around 9-10 pm, and I was informed that the maintenance guy would need to come up again, but we had to wait as the only lift in the hotel had broken down. This was a recurring issue, as the lift was out of order for 2-3 days during my stay.
When the maintenance guy finally arrived, he admitted the room was beyond repair. It was nearly midnight when the receptionist arranged for yet another room, which turned out to be a newly refurbished one. To my dismay, there was an entire row of such rooms, indicating that the hotel had new rooms available but chose not to offer them earlier, falsely claiming full occupancy.
It's disheartening that the hotel would allocate unlivable rooms to guests, especially when they have better options available. The rooms are not cheap, and for a hotel that isn't supposed to be budget-friendly, the service and conditions were unacceptable. Permai Hotel needs to seriously step up their game if they wish to remain in the...
Read moreMade a come back after I was here back in 2002; haha very long period ago.||My stay was cut short due to MAS fleet issue; hence I only get 1 night stay here.||||Arrived at the hotel close to 4pm.||Huge lobby; new building.||Main lobby layout was pretty much bare; need more soul; maybe put some life plants and flowers would do the trick.||||Check it was fast.||They had the room ready.||Given room on the 4th floor.||Had the view of the kampung behind the hotel.||||Room 4021.||Room was pretty much decent.||Layout was ok and lighting was good.||Very limited TV channel.||Air conditioning works marvelous.||Internet; terrible connection; just use your data instead.||Toiletries was very much minimal with no hand or face towel and tooth brush/razor etc.||||Morning breakfast at the coffee house was OK.||The spread is pretty much average.||But at least the food tasted OK.||||Thank you for letting me to check-out at 2pm.||I really appreciate.||||Overall experience was considered average as this place has many areas to improve; especially on staff greeting the guest. ||Apart of the reception staffs (they were good, accommodative, friendly, smiley); other staffs were not. They need to train their staff to be friendlier to guests and make the guests feels at home. ||Start with decent greetings or salam or smile would do. ||This will go long way; trust me.||Also room cleanliness needs some improvements too.||||Anyway thank you again for accommodating me during my short stay.||Thank you for the late...
