Firstly, I will have to commend the pre sales admin staff who i was dealing with over Whatsapp. She was super helpful (did nkt get her name unfortunately). Location of the resort was great. We chose the seaview room which is literally on the beach. You step out of the room into the beach side so that was great!
Now, unfortunately to the cons. Condition of the room could be improved. Bathrooms especially weren't in good condition. Some of the window panels were missing and the sink was leaking which was kinda gross as all the water from the tap goes directly onto the floor. These were still manageable in my opinion.
However, the moment we checked into the two rooms we had booked, we obviously checked the bathroom condition. To our extreme unpleasant surprise, there was a pretty big monitor lizard in one of the bathrooms. With all the commotion, it ran off through some hole which we then covered with a pail or something. The next afternoon (after we had returned from being out for a few hours), the unwanted house guest had returned somehow. We told the receptionist, to which she said there wasn't anyone around to look into it at the moment. We waited for about 30-45 min for someone to come take a look by which of course it had somehow ran off again. While I understand he couldn't have done anything at that particular moment, there were two things that we were extremely disappointed with. He seem to give us a look as if we were being unreasonable and could have made it up -_- The fact that the monitor lizard was there twice means this has probably happened before. That's simply unacceptable for a hotel.
Additionally, there was a wooden railing outside the room. The railing fell apart when one of us simply touched it. The wood was rotten and honestly could have been super dangerous if someone had leaned on it.
I do appreciate the location and presales service. However, the stay was not as pleasant as we had hoped especially due to the monitor lizard as most of us did not dare to use the washroom :( also, another suggestion, front desk service could...
Read moreThe staff was very helpful. I made a booking on the day when I arrived in Tioman. The staff took the initiative to contact me shortly after I made the booking to advise me on how to get to Juara. They were also very proactive in helping me look for a solution when I couldn't pay for my accommodation via credit card, and also changed my rooms immediately when the toilet was leaking.|||| · The facilities are clean but old. Not just the toilet leak on the 2nd night but also the air conditioner was creaking and sputtering so loudly that I couldn't sleep too on the 3rd night. The kitchen has not yet open when I arrived, so you got to get food elsewhere. They serve breakfast but it is 3 slices of toast with packets of jam and butter and one fried egg. I saw the menus in other resorts and they offer guests more variety. For the price of the place incl. breakfast I wouldnt say it is value for money at all.||||Also the rooms are made up of 2 halves of a wooden hut, so it is entirely not soundproof so privacy is really compromised here. You can go for it if you have enough people to book both rooms that make up the hut. I took a look at some other resorts and most of the rooms are made up of their own hut and privacy wouldn't be an issue in this case.||||Also mineral water isn't complimentary. I am happy to refill my bottles to reduce waste but I wish they have a sign in the room to indicate that.||||All in all, I would say that there are definitely more value for money options in Juara Beach to go for. This would be one of my last options if the better options out there are fully booked.||||Also they don't accept credit card so please bring enough cash when you go to pay. I wished they were more proactive in informing guests when they do their listing on Booking.com etc. Would have saved...
Read moreReview for Juara Beach Resort||My daughter and I recently stayed at Juara Beach Resort and had a very unpleasant experience. While I don't like leaving negative reviews, I feel it's important to share what happened.||I felt perfectly fine when checking in but ended up not being able to sleep with a persistent cough on our first night. The next morning, I inspected the air conditioning unit and was shocked to find it was full of mold, dirt, and hair. Unfortunately I was in the bed that was facing the aircon vent. I immediately went to a local clinic, where a doctor confirmed that the dirty AC unit was likely the cause of my respiratory infection. I had to pay for the clinic visit and four different prescriptions.||Because I was so sick, I couldn't go scuba diving with my daughter as we had planned. There was no way I could stay in the same room for my health, and I asked the resort for a refund for the rest of our four-night stay. However they only offered to refund one night and even blamed my illness on my "symptoms of coughing." I am a throat cancer survivor, and this comment was not only inaccurate but also insensitive.||I hope that Jura Beach will take my feedback constructively and clean out those AC units to avoid making...
