HONEST AND FAIR REVIEW- As I see either 5 stars or 1 star, I would like to share an honest and fair review of this hotel. PROS : First, in our search it was the cheapest one in Rasdhoo (it was around 58€ per night). Considering the price it is in my opinion a good hotel. It has wifi, Smart tv supporting all common sreaming platforms, air conditioning, ceiling fan, hairdryer, they give you towels for both shower and beach, it has gel and shampoo, shared kettle and microwave and free instant coffee, tea and milk in powder. Although the location is "bad" for the bikini beach, is just like 10 minutes walking, as the island is small. It is close to the ferry terminal and the main streets in rasdhoo. Moreover, Mohammed, the person that was in charge of the room was really kind and tried to solve the issues that we had with insects in the room (mosquitoes mainly). So he burned special incense, and depth-cleaned the room every day. He also got us a buggey free of charge for going to the speedboat the next day (although it was like 5 minutes walking). He was also available on whatsapp for any doubt. So the service was totally 5/5.
CONS: The main issue in my opinion was that the room needed some maintenance. several window handlers were broken, and there was humidity in some of the walls. Also, the excursions were a bit expensive, but the owner clearly told us the price so we decided to book them on our own in other places of the island. The main complaint may be that the owner told us on booking that he was offering private tours to see the whale shark but then it was not possible when we came here.
TL;DR: great basic hotel with all you need at very competitive price, excellent service, old rooms. We didn't got any excursions with them, we thought they were not a good deal (but the hotel...
Read moreThe greatest host ever! The place is sparkling clean, the property is amazing and the staff is the greatest ever! There was no wish of ours that they do not accomplish. On our way to Rasdhoo, I asked if we can buy something for mosquitos on the island and when we got there, we already had it in our room. They had taken care of our need even if we didn't ask for. We just asked to see where we could buy from. Also, our little niece needed a vaccine after she was scratched by a cat and the host did his best to get the vaccine and called on every pharmacy in Male, because it wasn't available on the island. Because it wasn't available on Male either, he went back to the doctor and ask for a another treatment. He also sent Amir, his employee, to the hospital to help and translate in case it was needed. They arranged for us sandbank trip, snorkelling, a tour to another island... all that we asked for. We also received entire snorkelling equipment whenever we asked for. They were so nice and friendly that we changed our plans and stayed more on Rasdhoo. The beach is beautiful too and there is shade on the beach and you can enjoy the sun and the water longer. Nizam invited us to a dinner and it was the tastiest dinner we had during our entire vacation. At the end, we also receive a gift from Nizam. We won't forget our stay there! Also, I can only say great things about Amir too. He is a great guide and he helps you with everything you need. This is a great place with great people!! Definitely I...
Read moreWe stayed at the Brach Cottage in Rasdhoo with my family for over a week in November. We chose them as they were very responsive and helpful upon initial contact. We were absolutely thrilled with our choice. The accomodation is comfortable, sporless clean, and the host incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clustered around common room - where a coffee and tea making is possible. Beach Cottage offers bath and beach towells. The beds are big and comfy. The garden teeming with lushful greenery is a lovely touch! The host made sure we were kept happy, that no question remained unanswered, and all arrangements for arrival and departure were hassle free. Within the gates there are showers to wash off the ever present sand :). The luggage was driven to and from the Boat with a funky 3-wheel bike so we didn't have to lug it ourselves. We had an option to do our laundry, so we were able to bring fewer things and just wash them in the meantime. The wi-fi worked really well. The local island has a lot of charm, there are several dining options - most of them budget friendly. The bikini-beach is a very short walking...
