Colibri Beach House — Hotel in Isle Mauritius

Comfy bed. Great terrace with direct view of beach / water. Lovely workers (The reception lady and her sister who both coordinated the place, both spoke English). Air con & fan. Safe in room (although didn't work actually). Felt area was safe enough. Night watchman....just in case though. Shared kitchen so you need to get dressed to make a cup of tea in the morning. Really close to a cool restaurant/bar called "Green Island" (2 mins walk). The Aux de Cerfs ferries leave from here too so very convenient (and worth visiting!). We could use laundry next door for free but had to provide our own detergent. The room is nice but it is a little weird in that the shower is all glass and kind of in the bedroom, so you are showering in full view...and if you have the terrace doors open...in full public view. Toilet is next to it on the inside so with there being no door, your partner (and passers by if your terrace doors are open) would be able to see your legs as you are sitting down. We got used to it ...and basically kept the terrace door curtains closed and tried to give each other a little privacy when needed. Otherwise, great for a couple. Not great for siblings / friends. The continental breakfast we had was fine (esp the marmalade) on the 1st day, then we catered for ourselves after that. Basic grocery store opposite. Bit tricky an entrance to get car out of. One of you really needs to go on the road to check for traffic and guide the car driver out. Great place though. Would recommend. Good value for money. The Tourist Police visited while we were there to check everything was...

We booked this Villa on 22 July 2017 for December 2017 / Jan 2018. All excited cause on Agoda it looked ideal. The booking was confirmed and it stated on the confirmation email that payment for the property will be collected at the property on our arrival. So we left it at that. Booked our vehicle and Flights. All excited for our trip in December. On 13 October Agoda tried to phone only once to tell us that the property owner wants to cancel the booking cause they have not received advanced payment. We then said please we will pay any amount even full to keep the accommodation as they never asked NOT once in email or any means of communication in the last 3 months for any money. Then We were waiting for the email with banking details. We never received it. And the very next day the owner canceled it. Firstly he DID not give us a chance to make payment cause even if we did it would take 3 days to reflect. Secondly he put the exact same place up for rent and increased the amount by 50% to the original price making us believe he did so on purpose as so he can charge more for his place than when we booked it. We sent info to Agoda pleading our case and to date no reply. So NEVER will we book through Agoda again for their non helpfulness in this matter. and STAY away from this property as this guy ruined our whole Mauritius experience cause of greed....

Modern studio apartment located 15 meters from the beach in Trou D'eau Douce. Living room and kitchen which is quite good equipped, barbecue is also available. Three bedrooms with air cond, two showers and WC. Balcony with a great view towards village harbour and Isle aux Cerfs. Good cleaning service with cnage of towels and bedsheets 6 days a week. ||No street numbers on the house, so it can be hard to find. No reception, so give a call when you arrive at airport so that manager shows up to meet you at the villa. 3-4 restaurants within 600 meters distance and couple of supermarkets to cover your basic needs.
