Initial impressions were good but then things went downhill afterwards where we were seated first (but served after another couple that had arrived AFTER us) after a wait of over 30mins. I was told that everything is organic but that is no excuse for a piece of tomato having a black hole in it and lettuce that looked like it had started to rot on the fringes.
When the above was pointed the waiter he was very defensive and offered no apology whatsoever for the delay and the lack of quality control regarding the veg. This was highlighted to the owner who was also very defensive - and again not apologetic.
I’m guessing this is one of the those places where the management and staff are always right and valid complaints by the customer are dismissed.
I had high hopes but, due to the non existent customer service, I regrettably will not be coming again nor recommending this establishment to...
Read moreMy wife and I arrived at the restaurant at 9 pm. After a few minutes of waiting (there were tables available) and without being well attended, we were able to sit. We chose two chopps and ordered a small entree. It was very tasty (reason of two stars). The girl told us just in this moment that the kitchen closes at 9:30 pm. She didn't tell us anytime before of that. Then she went to check in the kitchen and returned saying its really couldn't make any more food orders. We asked for the bill and left without have dinner. Our doubt: Why didn't the clerk tell us about the kitchen's closing time when we arrived or ordered the entree? And what a lack of tolerance of 5 min was this...
Read moreSo far the best restaurant we have visited in Mauritius. Absolute and perfect professionalism of the staff is a matter of course, which does not detract from the warmth and interest in the guest. Each course was perfectly flavored, balanced and served. Plenty of fresh vegetables was amazing. The taste of bouillabaisse surpassed all my experience of Provence, the traditional palm heart salad was brought to perfection. Shrimp dishes, both curry and garlic shrimp, contained an incredible amount of fresh, tasty shrimp. My fish fillet was one poem. And what came in the end? Flambéed pineapple, banana and coconut pancake, all with ice cream and Creole coffee. I will dream about food from Green Island Beach Restaurant for a long time. I'm already looking for accommodation nearby for my next stay so I can come here...
