RIP OFF. We were looking for Pointe Maurice (see my review of this) and were confused as to its whereabouts so followed some blue signs saying Public Ferry and ended up here at the public ferry boat kiosk.
We were ushered to park up in a not so great location and then told to buy our tickets at this small kiosk by water.
Once at the kiosk we were told the fee was 1000MUR per person for a return trip to Ile Aux Maurice (we were expecting a price of 450 per person). This was over double the amount we had been told by a friend. When I asked if this was Pointe Maurice he said ‘no. Pointe Maurice is faaaaar away and can only be used by people staying at the hotel nearby’. This, my friends, is absolute rubbish.
Drive yourselves back up to the main roundabout (where you likely saw the blue signs and take the turning signposted HOTEL. This will take you down a long driveway. When you get to the fork take a right and drive to the barrier and let them know you want to go across to Ile Aux Cerfs. It’s super easy, much cheaper and very well organised with great free parking.

When it comes to the public ferry it is very expensive and not to recommend. They charged without negotiating 1000 RS per head for both ways. Book a tour in a local shop and you pay 1600 with transfer , ferry, snorkeling and BBQ. So don't book the public ferry on your own . Is is a tourist trap. We were told the boat runs every 30 minutes forth and back.. not true. We wanted to leave the island at 2 pm and were stuck onto the island until the last return (04 pm). The public ferry agency didn't take us back earlier. The only way I can express my disappointment is by sharing...

There you pay 450 per person for both ways and get a welcome drink on the Island. You pay on the Island and they also accept...
