Positive The best beach/resort hotel so far Very warm pools and ocean (January/February). Ocean is very pleasant to swim in. Huge main pool Several smaller pools around the resort Very attentive and friendly staff (brought rack for drying our clothes without asking, learned our drinks/food preferences very quickly, supplied our minibar with chosen drinks) Good amount of staff. There is always someone to fulfill your request. We never felt crowded. You pay premium for premium quality and service. The are just right amount of guests. Sometimes you are alone in the restaurant, in the pool, on the beach, in the ocean. Feels like private holiday just for you! No need to reserve your sun bed by the pool or beach early in the morning. You will always find the free spot. Bravo! Tasty and delicious food, mocktails and snacks Buffet in the morning and evening had always great selection. Even if you arrive 30mins before breakfast end, you have wide selection of food to choose from. We have never encountered empty spaces throughout the buffet. WOW! Picturesque hotel and its surroundings with Le Morne mountain visible from all resort locations. Amazing photos guaranteed! Access to nearby Paradis hotel and its restaurants Very clean beach and resort premises Walk/jogging/running tracks without need to leave the hotel/nearby golf course. Nice views along the track! Zen suites (adult only part) are great idea! They have its own pool and Butik beach bar is also at hand. So the staff can bring ordered drinks to your pool bed . There is no entertainment related noise in the area. Escape package is worry free choice where lot of drinks and a la carts meals are included. Like all inclusive program in other hotels. Check out experience was perfect. Hotel offered us to stay one hour longer in our room and restaurant had our preordered meals ready as soon as they opened. That allowed us to catch taxi in time. LG TV in the room had accessible hdmi port to connect tablet and computer and play our own content on it. USB A and C ports above each bedside table. Cosy terrace in front of our room . You can be there during the rain. Great WiFi coverage and speed
Ideas for improvement: The resort is big and the staff and guests are very often moved by fast electric carts. It causes quite a traffic through the main resort pathway. Especially if you want to walk on your own to the restaurants, you have to make way to these carts often. And sometimes you encounter fuel powered mini bus, which is annoying. Room AC is analog and noisy, so we switched it off during the night to have quiet sleep. You can hear minibar noise too. Bed produced squeaking noises even during sleep when you turn over or go to the toilet. It can wake you or your roommate. Mattresses were too soft for us, but it could be only our personal preference. Toilet door handle was creaking during opening/ closing. Toilet sometimes kept running/leaking the water. You needed to flush it again to stop it. No free power sockets near the bedside tables. We had to unplug the lamps to plug our phone/computer chargers. Mosquitoes around the rooms attached terrace. Bring some repellent with you and power socket repellent for the room. On Friday around 10am the staff spent 2 hours to trim the grass with fuel powered tractor/hand lawnmower around zen suites and its pool. It has to be done sometimes, I understand it. Electric lawnmowers would produce less noise and maybe lunch time would be more fitting because guests are away eating. Very often you hear helicopters flying to nearby resorts with helipads Nearby Paradis hotel and its premises look dated and not so nice as Dinarobin. I was charged for soda drink during breakfast in spite of the Escape package. It was not able to find this “breakfast” exception written in terms and conditions. Escape package bracelets could be good idea to avoid the need to state your room number every time you ask for something at the bar/restaurant. It seems to me waste of paper and time to sign the zero priced bill for every...
Read moreWe stayed at Dinarobin for three nights with our 10 months old, this is what we loved:
The location and the heated little pool with Le morne as a backdrop. The pools are very quiet and you can enjoy the atmosphere without many people around. Le morne is beautiful and the hotel itself displays good taste in the common areas
The staff at reception and concierge: everyone was extremely helpful and nice to our son, even when he wasn’t on his best behavior, they never made us feel like we were disturbing. They allowed us a late check out which saved our day and I cannot thank them enough for it
The Kids Club: the facilities are well kept and both Jessica and Marie-Claude took excellent care of my baby. They were very flexible, even with last minutes small changes and I cannot thank them enough for making Nicco happy!
Boutik bar and La Plage Restaurant: these were our mandatory stops for drinks and for lunch. Staff always amazing, kind and helpful. The premises of both venues are very well kept and it really gives you the feeling you are in a magical place.
Mahogany bar: beautiful bar, staff attentive, great drinks and entertainment
La Ravanne restaurant: my favorite restaurant, just great all around
What we didn’t particularly like:
Harmony main restaurant - the food was just barely average, which for a 5 star hotel is not ok. The worst was during breakfast, even the fruit was bad. Staff was doing their best but sometimes they were a bit overwhelmed.
Our Room: definitely not up to standard for a 5 star. Very nice view but our bed was very short, we had two small mattresses and the bathroom was very basic. It seems like staying in a motel with big rooms. Also one could hear people in the room close to you.
Water Activities: they are located at the Paradis and it’s not worth the time. We went for snorkeling and staff was not helpful. They brought us to the snorkeling point without explaining what to see or how to behave while snorkeling (we didn’t need explanations as we are scuba divers, but we saw some people in the group stepping on corals). Ok that it is free, but if I had gone alone from the shore it would have been the same.
The fact that Paradis and Dinarobin are two different resort and one can go freely from one to another makes it very crowded and it doesn’t give you the impression you are in an exclusive and luxury hotel, which Dinarobin markets itself as one. We just came from Constance Prince Maurice and the difference in luxury between the two hotels is evident, yet the price is very similar.
Dina’s: the food was EXCELLENT and the first half of our meal went very well, however service was not great. They mixed up my son’s order which was vegetable puree and spaghetti. The spaghetti never arrived. a little snake fell from the roof on our neighbors table, staff came and threw the snake out of the window. This is not how you dispose of it, I understand we shouldn’t harm it, but we spent the rest of our meals wondering if it would crawl back up. Then we ordered two espresso decaffeinated, which we did the nights before at Harmonie and Ravanne. However we noticed that the look on our waiter’s face was of confusion. When the coffees arrived, they looked like americano coffee in espresso cups. I sent them back and asked for espresso. It took them 15 minutes to bring a giant cup of americano coffee to my table, at that point I was speechless. Eventually the waiter managed to tell me: we do not do espresso decaffeinato here, if you want one, you need to go to the bar. At a 5 star restaurant, you make me wait 20 minutes just to tell me no go and get it at the bar 100 meters away…. This is not 5 star treatment and ruined the impression of this restaurant.
One evening I was sitting on the couch outside our room and I saw a mouse leaving the room of our neighbors. I never saw a mouse presence in our room, nevertheless not what you want to see and I never lounged again outside.
We had a good time at Dinarobin , I just was expecting more care and luxury after reading so...
Read moreDuring our honeymoon in Mauritius (early September 2025) we spent the first week in the adults-only zone (ZEN room) of Dinarobin Beachcomber. What a wonderful hotel! Incredibly large estate, beautifully located with views of Le Brabant from everywhere on the grounds, perfectly maintained, friendly staff, excellent service, spacious rooms with lots of comfort, spotless cleaning…|Since it was our honeymoon, we were welcomed with a lovely gesture and a bottle of bubbles. Upon departure, we also received a nice gift.|This is a top-level 5-star hotel, without a doubt.||The resort itself is already very large, and you can also make use of all the facilities of the adjacent Paradis Beachcomber, which is fantastic. Every day we dined in a different restaurant (reservation required!) and in this way we discovered all the restaurants of both hotels. Without exception, they were all excellent.||THINGS THAT REALLY STOOD OUT POSITIVELY TO US, COMPARED TO OTHER 5-STAR HOTELS:|• Incredible follow-up from guest relations: every other day we received a phone call asking if everything was fine, if we had any questions or issues, and if they could assist us with anything.|• Not only good service but also fast service from the staff. You never had to wait long for a drink.|• Nice welcome gift and departure gift. Top.|• Everyone was exceptionally friendly and it felt genuine.|• Being able to use the facilities of 2 hotels creates extra opportunities. Fantastic.|• Size of the Zen suites (65m2) was superb. Very comfortable. Twice-daily service. Impeccable!||THINGS THAT, IN OUR OPINION, COULD BE IMPROVED: |• The adults-only ZEN area is wonderfully peaceful. We would have found it even better if the entire zone around the Butik Bar had been adults only, and not just one section next to the bar. At the Butik Bar and its adjacent zone, children were allowed, which disrupted the Zen feeling when we were at the Butik Bar.|• We missed an adults-only restaurant.|• At restaurant Umami we received the friendliest service of all restaurants, truly outstanding. However, the courses followed each other too quickly. Since the starter came very soon after the appetizers, I tried to ask to hold off a bit with the main course. Unfortunately, when they cleared the starter, the other waiter was already standing by with the main course. Maybe guests from some countries like to rush dinner, but for us Belgians that is not the case: we like to dine slowly and relaxed so we can fully enjoy. We also mentioned this to the waiter and to the restaurant manager, who responded very well. He apologized and assured us that next time we would certainly receive a relaxed service. Unfortunately, we did not return to Umami afterwards.|• The ZEN rooms are perfectly maintained and very comfortable, but in terms of look they are a bit dated. The view from our ground floor room was phenomenal though! Our booking requests had been taken into account, which we greatly appreciated.|• One important point for the cleaning staff: we had plugged in two mosquito repellents due to an allergy, but noticed one was unplugged one evening, most likely during the daytime cleaning. We plugged it back in and left a note (NL + FR) kindly asking to keep them plugged in. Despite our note, the repellent was unplugged again the next day. Of course, after that we kept a closer eye on it and quickly plugged it back ourselves. A pity our message was ignored. All other days, apart from these two, both repellents stayed plugged in as requested.||The week after Dinarobin we stayed at Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel. These two hotels are almost impossible to compare, as they are very different. Paradise Cove is more of a small-scale boutique hotel without a real beach, while Dinarobin probably has the most beautiful beach in Mauritius. Both hotels are top-class. If we compare, service at Dinarobin is on an even higher level. Food at Paradise Cove is on an even higher level.||Would we come back to Dinarobin Beachcomber? DEFINITELY!!! AND WE...
