The best experience we’ve ever had! This is going to be a very long review but we truly had the best time at Chileno Bay! We were in Cabo to celebrate our daughter’s second birthday and we were so happy that we chose Chileno bay! The service here is impeccable and unmatched. Everyone at this resort truly goes above and beyond! ||From the moment we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by German and the team with the biggest smile and received the warmest welcome! Sofia at the front desk was so sweet and friendly and engaged with our daughter while we were checking in which helped tremendously. Upon arrival to our room, we were surprised with pink balloons and special treats to make our birthday girl feel special. German and Alan who helped us to our room even sang Happy Birthday to her! ||We headed to TNT for lunch right after and was helped by Yohan. He was so sweet and kind. He brought out a high chair, crayons and plastic water cup immediately. It was very hot and humid that day and Yohan noticed that our daughter’s cheeks were getting rosy and brought the fan out without us even asking. Yohan gave us great recommendations and we loved everything we ordered here especially the sea bass ceviche, guacamole and tacos! ||We went to the pool right after lunch. Their kids/family pool is the best!!! Our daughter had the best time! The pool was shallow and she was able to walk around the pool freely and safely. The Food and Beverage service at the pool ends at 6:30pm. We were unaware of that but Karen helped us with our order anyways which was so nice! Our daughter loved being by the pool so much she didn’t want to leave so we went back to TNT for dinner since it was next to the pool. We were helped by Alondra. She has the best attitude and the biggest smile! She remembered us from lunch and was so helpful with ordering and making sure all the food came out promptly!||The next day, we started our day at Comal for breakfast! Our server, Abel, was so great! He made sure we got everything we needed, kept checking in on us, made sure the umbrellas were keeping us shaded from the sun and that the food came out quickly for our daughter. Our favorite item on the menu was the steak and eggs. Also don’t forget to ask for the habanero sauce! We went back to Comal everyday for breakfast and the servers are all so amazing. Special shoutout to Jesus, Michelle, Abel and Elizabeth at Comal who were especially sweet to our Arya! They all have gone above and beyond! Thank you! We also dined at Comal for dinner on our last day and our server, Mario, was amazing as well! Very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We loved everything we ordered!||We had lunch and dinner at Yaya as well! We loved the food here a lot. The fresh sourdough bread and grape seed oil dip is so fresh and amazing! The salads here are absolutely divine! You truly can’t go wrong with any of the food items here. The hosts at the front especially Alessandra was so sweet and lovely to our daughter. She constantly checked in on us and made sure our daughter had enough coloring paper and crayons! She even played with her and kept her occupied while my husband and I enjoyed dinner! They were so great!||The resort is very walkable but they do provide transportation on their carts if needed via texts which was so convenient. We definitely took full advantage of this service. It made getting to our destination a lot faster than trying to walk everywhere with our toddler. Yahel and German took us around the property for most of our stay. They were always so happy, cheerful and interactive! We had a great time chatting with them!||The resort is currently doing a special offer for summer where kids get to eat for free so that was a nice touch. They also had a great kids club with babysitting services for extra cost if needed. Our daughter had so much fun making new friends and playing at the kids club. We were there everyday. This resort has the best people and extremely kid friendly. We loved our stay so much and can’t wait to return again soon!!! Thank you again for making our stay such a...
Read moreJust got back from a trip to CB in July 2017. We have stayed at many Cabo resorts and most of the five star options. At this point Chileno is not quite up to the standards of Palmilla, LVP, Pedregal or Esperanza but it's a nice, large property, good location and we shall see as they get more of it online. We had a very good rate and it was worth that price. Will do the breakdown of various areas: Room: Our original room was a "pool view" which was a very nice room but on the lower floor and hubby likes upstairs so we relocated to a room that was in the second row of buildings with some ocean view. Not sure the category, was same basic plan as pool room but I thought it was not as nicely furnished as far as the color scheme went and the view had a lot of building in the way. It was also accessed through a courtyard by the reception area and this was very spartan and basic. Not very pleasing to walk through. Room itself was large, nice bathroom, outdoor shower, comfortable bed, great AC, quiet. Blackout shades had some gaps so was a little bright in the am. Nice to have fridge stocked with sodas, etc.) Pool area: All and all it is a large pool with many loungers, umbrellas, etc. water temp was perfect. The pool is long and narrow with the part furthest from the ocean being the "kids" middle part was "family" and ocean front area was the "adult" pool. There were not many guests when we were there. Seems like it may be a little tough to really have much separation of these areas. Loungers were comfy, towels plush, staff plentiful but not quite at the training level of the very high end resorts. You had to work to get their attention on occasion. There is a text messaging system but when I tried to use it the text was bounced back. Probably needs to be written out for US guests vs. others to get it to work properly. Pool restaurant/bar is nice but closes at 6:00 which is way to early. Wanted a sunset drink and appetizer but that was not an option, should probably keep that open later as it's right on the beach and of course should be a sunset option! One day there was a photoshoot of the Travelocity gnome which took over the entire area at the infinity edge of the pool with pop ups, screens, lights, crew (like 20 people to shoot a garden gnome) and they also took over a large portion of the restaurant with equipment and personnel. Staff was distracted, view was ruined. Then a private party took over the spot and so view was a bust for the whole day. Things like this may benefit the hotel but they were not a benefit to the paying guests and management should have compensated guests somehow. Restaurants: Only two were open, I believe more are planned. Comal serves breakfast and dinner. Had a great short rib, fairly good mixed grill, very good salads. Breakfast had a nice menu and a lot of options but it was so hot I could barely stand to sit there. Need to figure out how to shade tables more adequately and get the air conditioned indoor space ready. Staff was very nice at Comal, especially Luis. They have a free shuttle to the Esperanza for dinner and that's a nice option. Their restaurants are all excellent and have beautiful views off the cliff. Gym: Very large and well appointed. View of the ocean, cold AC, probably the best one of the resorts I've used. Spa: Didn't go. Beach: Waves were very large when we were there and most equipment was not being loaned out but will be great on days with less surf to use the canoes, paddles boards, etc. There are two beach areas. One is totally private as rocks block non hotel guests from access but waves are bigger. The area with the sports equipment and "beach club" is on the public beach which was somewhat crowded with local beach goers and it was not even the weekend when we were there. All in all, would say this to compare CB to other high end resorts: Not at the level of Palmilla, LVP, Esperanza or Pedregal (and also a lot less expensive) but would say the property, pool and rooms are nicer than The Cape though restaurants/bars...

Accommodation: Oh, let me tell you about our stay at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences in December 2023—it was beyond amazing! Picture this: a three-bedroom ocean-view villa with its own private pool and a sprawling outdoor area equipped with a grill, lounge chairs, and even an outdoor shower. Our butler, Sergio, made sure we felt like royalty from the moment we arrived, swiftly unpacking and organizing our bags.
Facilities and Amenities: Now, the dining options were a culinary adventure! Three fantastic restaurants—COMAL, YAYA, and TNT—spoiled us with choices. We practically lived at COMAL for breakfast and YAYA for lunch every day. They not only nailed the hospitality game but also accommodated all our family's dietary quirks. And can we talk about the fitness center, private theater, and that speakeasy bar? Total game-changers. Oh, and did I mention the three pools with a view of the Sea of Cortez? Pure bliss.
Service and Staff: The staff at Chileno Bay were absolute gems. They knew our names, adding a personal touch to our entire stay. Sergio, our superhero butler, deserves a shoutout for going above and beyond—changing dinner reservations, sorting out random requests (like getting us a book of matches), and being our go-to guy. The chefs, managers, and even the beverage director, Miguel, were like culinary wizards, making sure even our pickiest eaters were over the moon.
Dining Experience: Let's talk food! TNT had us hooked on tacos and tequila, YAYA felt like a Mediterranean dream with that outdoor oven (seriously, I want one at home!), and COMAL served up modern Mexican delights. Now, here's where it gets special—my little sister has serious allergies. Most resorts shy away from accommodating her, but not Chileno Bay. They assigned two chefs to whip up her meals in a separate kitchen, and the joy on her face at being able to eat without worries was priceless.
Scenery and Environment: Chileno Bay is a slice of heaven on the Sea of Cortez. Lush greenery, stunning ocean views, and sunrises that had us glued to our villa every morning—it was pure magic. And can we talk about how immaculate the grounds were? Not a leaf out of place!
Activities and Entertainment: The resort had it all—water sports, workout classes, events for all ages, and a spa partnered with NYC's famous THE WELL. The complimentary water experience was the cherry on top. Talk about living the good life!
Overall Impression: I'd give Chileno Bay Resort & Residences a perfect 10 out of 10, maybe more if I could. The vibes, the food, and the experiences made it a trip to remember. But, the staff members at the resort make an already memorable experience, a life-changing one. I wish I never returned home! Chileno Bay Resort & Residences delivered a solid six-star experience, leaving us with nothing but...
