While the pictures look nice, this is unfortunately a DISHONEST business and you can do much better booking elsewhere in the Valle. My wife and I booked online and stayed at Contemplacion. At check-in they made an additional $40 charge for the "warranty" - this is not like most hotels who just place a card on file for incidentals. Contemplacion actually charges it and then THEY KEEP IT. Upon check-out they said the charge would be refunded within a day. I watched my CC statement and no refund, so after 1 week I emailed them...no response. I emailed again (now 10 days later) to any other email address I could find on their website, someone replied and said they don't know what happened, they'll look into it and get back to me...no response for another week...so I email again, still no response...ultimately it had been a month when I emailed AGAIN demanding a refund and having to change from a professional tone to a forceful one... FINALLY I get a response which says that they: looked into it and the room was missing 2 pillows so they kept my warranty, they are "confident" in their decision and that's that. I have no way to refute their absolutely ABSURD claim, after they gave me no communication. If there really were pillows missing they could have contacted me right away, my wife and I were still on the property long after check-out, but there never were any missing pillows. So here's my SUMMARY: They have a hip looking place, but because there is no hot water (lukewarm at best even after letting it run...), weak water pressure, a bad septic system (doesn't allow you to flush toilet paper and smells funky), they are not getting as many customers as they like so they employ dishonest methods for increasing revenue. If they wanted an extra $40 just charge more for the room, don't be dishonest (strike 1), uncommunicative (strike 2), and then make up stories about missing pillows (strike 3). Valle de Quadalupe is a beautiful place, so don't let your experience be ruined by staying here. There are MANY other options in the Valle, go support an...
Read moreFirst time visiting this GORGEOUS hotel in early February with my partner for a long birthday weekend. Even before our arrival, the staff was in constant communication with us via WhatsApp and gave us directions and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. They were also nice enough to let us check in early. The first person we met at the office was a lovely woman named Dulce (just like her name, she is the sweetest!). She was incredibly patient and kind and gave us great instructions and recommendations. They were 2 other men at the front desk that I didn't catch their names unfortunately but every interaction was MUAH chef's kiss
We were frequent visitors at the Salvilla Restaurant located in the center of the premises - my partner still needed to work during the day so we would go for breakfast, afternoon drinks, and dinner and we got to know the staff very well. I cannot say enough amazing things about their genuine kindness and service and they went above and beyind for us every single time. I was sad the day we were leaving because i felt that we were leaving our friends. The three we MUST name drop were: Ricardo, Gabriel and Abe. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR BEING INCREDIBLE.
Last but definitely not least, our hero Javier. He is part of the security team - he is another person that went above and beyond for us many times during our stay. We were driving to another neighboring winery for dinner at night and I think he sensed my nervousness when it came to the directions so he took us halfway to ensure we took the right roads after his shift was over and we are so very grateful!
We went during the off season so it was slower and quieter which we enjoyed - it made everything seem more intimate. The only thing we didn't love was the rain but that is all up to mother nature.
10+ stars for Contemplacion Hotel - I can only hope that we can return again!

Read moreFloor to ceiling window at the foot of your bed. View is onto the hotel property which is excellent landscaping with flora and fauna massive to the area. Loads of white sage, which is also the name of the on-site restaurant where breakfast is included: Salvia Blanca. Have the sage tea at breakfast, it's really tasty.
Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion all included. No washcloth, so bring your own loofah. Showerhead very high, couldn't adjust it. Very spacious shower, temperamental temperature. We visited the first weekend in January and the room was very cold. The heater works, but we had to call the front desk to get it to work. They very graciously explained it over the phone and it did start working. The bathroom doesn't have a heater, but there was a portable one in the room that I used in the morning.
Coffee maker with the ability to grind whole beans to make your pot, which tastes great. Extra beans available plus cream and sugar. No water kettle nor tea in the room. Mini fridge fully stocked with for purchase alcohol and non-alcohol. Snacks available for purchase too.
Comfortable queen, dog friendly room. Music is played until 9pm down at the restaurant. Onsite parking available. The pool looked great, too cold to try. Gym ok.
Great for a night or two. Walking the dogs around the property was easy, but loads of stairs. Poop bags available.
I'll likely try any number of other spots before staying the night again here - because I love to see new hotels. I'm still dreaming of the sage tea at the wonderful breakfast.
