I called this restaurant to place an order for delivery after I got a great recommendation from my hotel host.

Upon initial call and after a short conversation over the phone they informed me that even though they were about to close in an hour, instead of picking they could have a table ready for us as long as it was before the kitchen closed. I confirmed the time of my arrival with the host over the phone. 2 minutes before my arrival and 30 minute before kitchen is closed, I called again to place the order for the table just to make things quicker and since we knew what we wanted . Even though I confirmed the reservation and drove 15 minutes to get there, the person over the phone told me that he wouldnt be able to take our order at the moment and they were no longer taking orders.

I clearly drove all the way to the resturant after the first conversation over the phone, the person CONVINCED me that it was better to have a table in the restaurant instead of picking up. Even though I was 10 minutes earlier to the reservation they still didn’t care! At this point I drove all the way to the restaurant for nothing - no to go food nor a table at the restaurant .

It’s my 6th time In Valle de Guadalupe and it’s the first time I experience this type of service. I didn’t try the food, but customer service is important.

Will defiantly make sure that friends and family who visit the area know that there are great places here, just not...

Salvia Blanca is a beautiful restaurant located in the heart of the Valle de Guadalupe wine region in Mexico. The restaurant is located inside the Hotel Contemplacion, which is a small hotel complex with luxurious villas.

The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and offers a variety of Mexican dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The brunch is particularly popular, and it features a variety of dishes, including eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, and waffles. The cocktails are also excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive.

One of the things that makes Salvia Blanca so special is its location. The restaurant is located on a dirt road, so it is important to make sure you have a good map or GPS. Once you arrive, you will feel like you are in a different world. The gardens are lush and beautiful and the restaurant offers inside and outside locations.

I highly recommend Salvia Blanca to anyone visiting the Valle de Guadalupe. It is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff, and a stunning location.

Here are some additional tips for your visit to Salvia Blanca:

Make a reservation in advance, especially if you are planning to visit on a weekend. Bring a camera, as you will want to capture the beautiful scenery. Order the brunch, it is not to be missed! Enjoy a cocktail or two, they are excellent. Take a walk through the gardens, they are lush and beautiful.

I hope you enjoy your meal at...

Let's kick off by declaring our undying love for Valle de Guadalupe — our go-to destination since 2015. Witnessing its evolution has been a treat, with new gems popping up left and right, begging to be explored.

Enter Salvia Blanca - stellar reviews, picturesque ambiance, we were excited to try it! We ordered a cocktail for my better half, a glass of wine for me, and a daring pineapple-coffee mocktail .

The ceviche sounded like a perfect start. Although, reality smacked us like a fish out of water. The broth? A murky disappointment that even my fiancé, connoisseur of all things liquid, dubbed "the worst broth in history." And the shrimp? Gray and chewy. Look, I'm no stranger to ceviche — it's supposed to be raw but safely marinated in citrus. This was a seafood crime scene after just one bite.

We tried to salvage the evening with bone marrow, but not before politely sending the ceviche back. Cue the entrance of a young lad, possibly the manager, who brought an unexpected flavor to the night — rudeness garnished with a side of arrogance. Attempting to school me on ceviche was as comical as it was futile; I've globe-trotted enough to know raw shrimp when I see it. His attitude was so off putting that instead of continuing with dinner we got the check and left. I will never be back, they should educate their employees on food safety and...

*Note, this restaurant is located inside the property of the Contemplacion Hotel. To get there we drove up to the guard at the gate and they show you where to park. We came here for a couples Valentine's dinner date and everything was simply very nice and pleasant from start to finish. The space was beautiful and romantic. It was busy as it was Valentine's night, but we'd made reservations on Open Table and the restaurant did a great job at managing the customer turnover. The waiter was attentive and personable. Our food was cooked skillfully. One of our party had recently had a disappointing steak at another restaurant in the region and said at Salvia Blanca he was able to get "the steak I've been searching for." Others in our party ordered pork chops and pork belly mac & cheese. What I appreciated most were the lovely mocktails. I think mocktails are deeply underrated and in a region so saturated with alcohol, sometimes it was just nice to have a "fun" drink of curated flavors that doesn't contain alcohol. We'd like to come back again sometime during the day to better enjoy the outdoor scenery!

Getting to this place can be somewhat of a challenge if you are relying on Google Maps. For whatever reason if you are approaching from the north on HWY 3 it will send you on dirt roads (Calle Merlot-avoid!) that are often blocked off or deadends. Look for the service road that parallels HWY 3 just south of Finca San Fernando. As for the restaurant itself, this establishment is probably in my top 3 in the Valle. The ambiance is on-point with large glass windows and a beautiful view of the valley and their grounds. Take note of the gardens. Service is very attentive, but not overly interrupting which I appreciate. This was our second time there. We had the sautéed vegetables as an appetizer-excellent. For the main course, I had the beef rib (dino) and the wife had New York steak. Both cooked to perfection. The beef rib is cooked for 12 hours! For desert we had the corn brûlée. Which is basically a flan brûlée and also excellent! Out the door with a bottle of wine and tip it was $258.00. Highly recommend.
