When I got there Saturday, May 28th check in was so long because they didn’t have internet connection so we had to wait in the lobby until they could figure out everyone’s rooms. & once we were able to actually check in and get a room they said the internet would be back shortly. I went down to from desk two times about the internet and they all said the same thing that the internet would be back up shortly. Sunday, same thing majority of day, no internet. Couldn’t watch Netflix, hallways were so hot. Room was warm. Finally around Sunday evening I told the gentleman that I’d like to request some kind of refund on my account because I haven’t had any internet and I leave Monday morning. The young man said of course tomorrow morning when you check out, we will take care of it. I finally had internet Sunday evening and Monday morning at 4 am I go to check out and tell Diana at the front desk abt getting some type of refund for the internet issues and she was completely rude, had me repeat myself 5 times at least. She wasn’t helpful or nice. I ended up leaving a lot later for the airport and she didn’t even have a resolution. She was too busy asking her co workers who was at front desk yesterday and who was the one that talked to me the day before. She made my experience a lot worse. After 20 minutes of her not doing anything I told her I have to get going and to call a taxi for me. I have visited Chihuahua at least 10 times and have stayed at 5 other hotels in the center of Chihuahua. This was the biggest hotel...
Read moreI'm at the hotel as I write. What a great location in the center of town. I hope you don't mind the ringing of the cathedral bells at 6:45 am. You will also hear the neighbors toilet flushing. At least I think it was flushing.
The staff was very courteous and attentive. The rooms were clean. Always critical! The TV could use an upgrade. The TV must be 10 years old. The TV made a humming sound and lacked the promised CNN. Hotel staff blame the problems on new cable company. How convenient?
The free breakfast included a tasty salsa and scrambled egg combo. One day to the chagrin of my vegetarian wife, they added ham to the eggs. I loved it. Also on the menu was coffee, cereal, bread, yogurt, so-so pastries, pancakes, etc. You have to pass through the dining room where they serve a splendid $8 breakfast. Sort of shows you what you are missing. Service in either the free breakfast and pay dining area was top notch. The in-house restaurant is super handy and I found the chow very good. Better than other nearby restaurants in their price range.
By the way a taxi shack is a just a minute away. Also nearby is the Plaza de Las Armas, shopping, restaurants and the cathedral. Weekends feature competing community (I hope you like cumbias) dance events at the plaza. Finally, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It's oh so convenient...
Read moreWhile I have stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels it was usually wasted on me because I never really used the services of any staff, my interaction usually was limited to the check in staff and if they didn't make me fill out my name and address by hand then that was perfect. My stay at this hotel changed my mind about how attentive and helpful staff can greatly improve your experience. ||Starting with the check in, My wife and I had been travelling for about 18 hours coming from Kelowna to Vancouver to Mexico city with a 7 hour wait from midnight till 7:00 am till we boarded the plane to Chihuahua. So when we went to check in at 9:00 am we where a little groggy, the check in people new we were on the morning train so suggested that we go right away to the restaurant and get our free breakfast. later that day they fixed us up with an english speaking cab and later that night when I asked for a cab to a certain restaurant, he asked what kind of food did we want and made a very good suggestion that was only walking distance from the hotel. Next day my wife left her brand new I phone under the pillow when we checked out, we did not discover it until we were at the train station, called the hotel and they checked the room and sent it over in a cab because there was not enough time to travel back and...
