Hotel Guayabitos Villa Flores — Hotel in Compostela

First room, #2, had no hot water in bathroom or kitchen sink as there was no hot water hose connected. Complaint brought staffer in to "check" when we knew it could not be repaired without a major plumbing job. We were moved to room #1, where we had stayed last year. || Wi-fi was great when it was up, but went out frequently. No one could or would give a time when it would be repaired. || Security was poor as some one pushed the door shutters open one night and tried to get in our room. Complaint brought a promise to check the security tape, but nothing was followed up on. Door has a lock, but it is useless when the shutters aren't lockable. || The pool is great, as are the grounds. Pool gets noisy on weekends when families with small children show up. The attached restarant is great and has good weekend music. || The hotel is right on the beach and about a five block walk to town. Upon arrival the hotel looked promising, however it did not take long to realize booking this hotel was a mistake. The pool was very dirty and had super murky water. The room was extremely hot and the AC did not work the first night. The second night it did not work again, so we let the front desk know. They moved us to another room that again DID NOT WORK! They had minimal parking and were not courteous of having us being blocked in by cars and took us 20 minutes of standing in the heat to leave in our car. Would...

Villa Flores is a very basic hotel with a superior location. The hotel is right on the beach, with chairs and umbrellas that you can use. On weekends the hotel is extremely loud and chaotic, and the pool is overrun with kids. The bungalows are very basic and poorly equipped - we did not even receive knives in our kitchen (but we did have forks and spoons!) The beds are hard and uncomfortable.
