Hotel Guadalajara Plaza Expo — Hotel in Jalisco

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. Read the other reviews carefully, multiple people have talked about the mold smell and old facilities. there is nothing "Executive" in it. Its situated in expo area and billed as a "business class" hotel but there are many better options, I would say its at standard hotel quality, because of a lack of care. The hotel is badly in need of renovation, which causes the exprience here to be very poor.

I choose this hotel to get a good night's sleep because I was traveling, Upon checkin these are the thigns I discovered which caused me to leave after one night: -noise transmits easily from room to room becasue of the gap below door frame. (its so bad that when neighboring rooms are being cleaned u can smell the disinfectant because all the same air is circulated thru the hotel everything on the floor (Smells and noise) is transmitted into your room. -old ac unit does not introduce fresh air, just recirculates the air. no heat and the large glass windows transmit cold on a cold day -carpets that retain smell and moisture -biggest issue - mold! the moment the elevator opens the smell is clear. I stayed on 4th floor, the whole floor and rooms had moisture smell. If you are sensitive to smells you will hate this. -off brand tv and bottled water, low quality shampoo/soap and the number #1 complaint is the internet. 1) the signal is very very weak 2)if you want high speed internet you must pay extra $$

if this was marketed as a standard hotel I would not be so critical of details, but i paid double price for this room and they advertise as a "business friendly" which it is not.

The breakfast buffet...

The hotel is well ubicated and clean, star bucks is around the corner and Plaza Del Sol is tree blocks away. However, on our last day, we had dinner in their restaurant. The enchiladas we ordered were cold, cold tortillas and cold chicken inside. The french frys were staled and cold. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, I asked if they were open for dinner and the answer was "Yes" however the food was cold and accompanied with grinding loud noise of constant cutting laminated flooring since they were redoing the bar next to the kitchen. We couldn't hear each other due to the noise. The waiters were not friendly or at least cordial. I would have preferred they told me the kitchen was closed , than to be served cold, staled food, loud noice and unfriendly waiters. 2/5 Me sorprende mucho leer tantas reseñas positivas sobretodo en cuanto a limpieza. Me hacen creer o que son falsas o que la gente tiene estándares propios de gasolinera de carretera abandonada. Me he hospedado en otros hoteles del área y decidí darle una oportunidad a este hotel. El hotel está anticuado, pero su edad o si tiene feo mobiliario es irrelevante. La limpieza en una estadía es fundamental y este hotel no lo cumple ni cercanamente. Las áreas comunes estaban asquerosas, las sillas del restaurante notoriamente mugrosas, espejos manchados, puertas, manijas, botones de elevador, vamos que no hay que llevar lupa. Lo peor, la habitación: La regadera llena de pelos, la coladera marrón, el WC verdaderamente sucio (en la bisagra de la asiento había nata de mugre y orina), la taza con excrementos embarrados, olor del baño terrible. El ovalín gris. El control del televisor visiblemente cubierto de una nata graso-amarillenta, los apagadores igual. Cuando intenté hablar por teléfono para solicitar cambio de habitación o limpieza, me encontré con que el teléfono no se limpia ni por error: los botones llenos de polvo, el auricular grasoso, apestoso. Nadie me contestó, parecía que la ningún número del conmutador estaba conectado porque en todas las opciones daba el mensaje en inglés: "la extensión no existe". Me cercioré que las toallas estuvieran lo suficientemente limpias para envolver la almohada en la que me acosté, porque dudo que éstas se laven. Al menos las sábanas (blancas) sí se veían blancas, pero no quise ya levantarlas y ver el estado del colchón, o si éste al menos estaba cubierto. El rodapié de la cama y el camino decorativo de la cama no parecen haber sido nunca lavados. La alfombra ni se diga. El aire acondicionado apesta a humedad y hongo. Por desgracia en tiempos de expo la zona suele saturarse y no encontré disponibilidad para cambio. Siempre cargo con toallas desinfectantes, antisépticos y limpiadores y desinfecté lo que más pude, sobretodo con lo que iba a interactuar. Me quedé exclusivamente por la expo, pero sin duda no volveré, no lo recomendaré (lo contrario) y menos habiendo opciones alrededor de precios similiares e infinitamente mejor en cuanto a limpieza de sus instalaciones.

De lo que puedo hablar positivamente, es de su ubicación conveniente (a unos pasos de la expo sobre la misma acera) y del desayuno. El personal del restaurante atento y la oferta variable y de buen sabor. Aunque no quiero ni imaginar cómo está la cocina.
