I recently had an experience at the Expo GDL Taco Stand that I feel compelled to share. My visit took place during a bustling Saturday at the expo, where various events, including car showcases, wedding planning exhibits, and graduations, attracted a large crowd. The impressive building and the overall atmosphere were indeed captivating. The staff, without exception, displayed exceptional courtesy and friendliness, which added to the positive impression of the place.
On our first encounter with the taco stand, situated in what appeared to be the atrium, we were discouraged by the long lines and opted to skip it. However, we returned the following day when the crowd had thinned out due to other events, such as a book festival. This time, we decided to try the taco stand, which initially seemed promising.
The ordering process involved paying for your desired items first, followed by a visit to the chef to select your choice of meat for the tacos. Then, you proceeded to the toppings and salsa stand, which offered an array of salsas, pickled jalapenos, chopped onions, cilantro, and more.
Here's where my experience took an unfortunate turn. As I approached the salsa stand, I noticed flies not only hovering around but also landing on the various ingredients. My concern deepened when, while selecting dried chiles salsa, I discovered a dead fly in it. To my dismay, further inspection revealed more dead flies floating in the pickled jalapenos' vinegar bucket.
I was left with a feeling of disgust and decided not to consume the food. Although I felt embarrassed to bring this to the attention of the staff, I did observe someone else approaching them with a similar concern. What I witnessed next was deeply disappointing - the staff proceeded to fish out the dead flies from the ingredients.
This experience was not only unappetizing but also unjust to paying customers who expected clean and hygienic food preparation. I strongly urge others to exercise caution and consider their health and safety when dining at the Expo GDL Taco Stand. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, and it would be wise to explore other dining options...
Read moreI stayed here throughout the Talent Land 2019 and they had everything under control.
GOOD THINGS: although there were more than 4 thousand people in the camping area. They always had sheets of paper in the bathrooms to clean their hands and toilet paper. They also had employees to keep everything clean during 5 days/24 hours. This was impressive most impressive for me.
ASPECTS TO IMPROVE: The worst part in the camping (besides the smelling), was that we didn't have enough plug sockets for the 4k people (there was just like a hundred plug sockets some of the were from CFE AC current and some other were DC USB plugs), but most people were forced to charge their smartphones somewhere else inside the event or even during the early morning which was my case.
Now speaking of the Talent Land organizers, they provide us of two microwave ovens (it was not enough, but it help us), they had hundreds of volunteers (but most of them didn't know how to guide us towards our conference, nevertheless they came up with great ideas such as set a table with food you don't want to waste for others in the camping). Their security was just okay, because you can't pass with food from outside (at least the first 3 days), but you can pass with a dagger or a gun if you know how to hide it (they didn't even care when the metal detector...
Read moreI went to the international book fair at Expo Guadalajara. This event blew my mind. The different venues that was available is outstanding. There were books for all ages. I saw no shortage of diversity on options; from classic novels to modern literature. There were many guests speakers attending promoting their current and future works. The venue was well organized and well maintained. Highly impressed at their preparedness in such a high number of attendees. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone who may be visiting during the time of this event. You will not be...
