had the chance to spend eight wonderful nights at Ekko Hostel, in a private room with its own bathroom, and I can honestly say it was an excellent stay from beginning to end. The place itself is spotless — the rooms are clean, comfortable, and perfectly maintained — but what truly makes this hostel shine are the owners. They are simply wonderful: warm, kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. From the very first moment, I felt not only like a guest, but like part of a family. Beyond the accommodation, Ekko Hostel is much more than just a place to sleep. It’s a space full of life, connection, and special experiences. During my stay, I was lucky enough to join some of the events they organize, and each one left me with beautiful memories: • a heartfelt Cacao Ceremony • a powerful Temazcal experience • a deeply relaxing full body massage • an intense and transformative Kambo session • and even hiking in the stunning mountains of Amatlán, discovering the beauty of the region. These activities gave my trip an entirely different dimension, and I will always carry this experience with me. Everything at Ekko Hostel is infused with care, authenticity, and joy. For me, it was not just a stay, it was a journey, an encounter with beautiful souls, and a reconnection with nature and myself. I can only recommend this place with all my heart. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Ekko Hostel is truly a gem, and I am grateful for every single moment I spent there.

A very unique place. Host is very accommodating. You have a choice of camping in a tent, sleep in the hostel, get a room or do the RV or van life thing. Great with children and pets. WiFi is included. Clean bathrooms and a hot shower. I paid 150 pesos per night per person for camping but I think there is a discount if you stay a week or longer. I experienced a very joyful and happy community here. Stayed a week in my Honda Element with my cat. We had bonfires, cacao circle, other nice events. If you want to embrace it you can feel welcome and included. Or you keep to yourself and nobody is bothering you. The community kitchen has a fridge and a gas stove and sink. I highly recommend!

I recommend this place, great location. You can walk to the hostel from the bus station. Is about 25 mins walk. Me personally, I walked there since it was my first time in Tepoztlán, I got to enjoy the view and the walk a lot. The rooms are a better option, they also offer camping but honestly I'm not a camping person and I don't have equipment, they rent everything separately so basically is about the same price for a bed or camping . Friendly environment to meet people:)

Where should I start! Definitely it’s not a hostel,it’s heaven, Daniel gonna treat you like a family, very knowledgeable about the whole world specially México, he knows the whole area, hiking trails, bars and local restaurant, he has been to several countries all around a world, speaks English fluently, even a lady who works here speaks English and she is super friendly The hostel started working 2 months ago, it is well maintained, neat and clean, There are doing there best to provide more amenities, right now there is no locker ot fridge but I have been told that they are going to sort things out in less than a month, I don’t do business here, no recommendations or tour o... in exchange of money, you can get them all cause you feel you are more than welcome here the second you step in, I lived the hipster vibe, the dorm has several beds but I bet you not gonna go to the dorm and you will spend all your time in the fabulous garden, super quiet, the only sounds you gonna hear are a close water stream and singing birds, Non of my friends ( I met them in a hostel in Mexico City) came with me because they taught there is no review about this place and they didn’t want to end up paying crazy fees for hotels, I am so glad I did it, unfortunately I do not have all my hiking stuff so I cannot spend a night in trails, There are wild, endless and untouched trails in this area which nobody goes but Daniel can help you out, he is going to spend time with you and you both going to enjoy sharing travel experiences, You are not gonna be treated like a customer,...
