We had really high hopes for Parcela, however it really let us down.
We had booked a 7:30 dinner reservation for Saturday night as our hotel was close and the reviews looked incredible. While in a rural area, this didn’t seem too late and wasn’t even the latest reservations available on OpenTable.
As we walked through the garden upon entering the grounds our anticipations grew only to be deflated upon being greeted at the door:
“Reservation? Si.” “The kitchen closes in 10 minutes so you need to order”
Umm ok, we hadn’t even sat down and were told we needed to order. No warning.
Now I get it if this is a cantina, but a chef-driven farm to table concept, unacceptable.
We promptly ordered, once again disappointed as two of the items we wanted were not available. The food we did have was good and is honestly the only saving grace. That said, it all came at once (starters and mains alike) and when finished we were met with the reply, “wow you eat fast”. No kidding, you clearly want us gone.
Halfway through the five dishes we were once again greeted by our server to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert…we legit just got our food. No thank you - which was then promptly followed by a shout to the kitchen, time to close, right from our table.
This is a simple fix, a) update your reservations to NOT allow times after 7pm or b) honour your bookings and actually provide the experience your guests are paying for and had been excited to enjoy.
We had booked brunch the following day but promptly cancelled and found other options as this left a sour taste in our mouth. Town is only a short 15-min walk so this is not the...
Read moreDo not eat here for dinner. I was really disappointed. We came at 7 ( we know they close at 8 ) but they take reservations and we were on time.
When we sat down, the waiter did not greet us (say hello) or give us any sort of information about the restaraunt. She asked us immediately to order. The entire time we felt rushed. The drinks from the bar were great. However the food was not, we ordered the chicken and stuffed squash. The chicken was raw in the middle when served, they did not apologize when it was brought to their attention. the asked if they could cook it longer we said of course. When they brought it back a few minutes later the chikcen was still not completely cooked in some parts.
I have lived in Mexico for 4 years and never have had to send food back, let alone have it come back still raw. I have never been to a restaraunt where my girlfriend and I have felt so rushed. This is an expensive, nice place so why treat the patrons like this. If you dont want to serve dinner, dont allow people to make reservations at 7pm.
Truly a really disapppointing experience, my partner was really looking forward to taking me here but the treatment was really disappointing in addition to the fact that they served us undercooked meat....
Read morethe burrito norteno is among the worst burritos i’ve ever had — stiff competition.
first criticism, it wasnt even folded closed, meaning it could only be eaten with a fork and knife. . why??
ingredients were wacked out. very poor quality cubed steak (only 50g) was chewy with — tasted boiled, ‘kimchi’ was way overloaded and mediocre, there was hardly a spoonful of beans in the entire thing. to top if off, a lineup of random soggy fried plantains sat on top. the guacamole tasted like it had too many additives, and the included ‘french fries’ were soggy, undercooked, and cold.
coffee drinks were not special. concha was pretty decent. french toast, ordered by my partner, was nothing special.
i’d struggle to believe 25% of the ingredients came from the farm.
avoid unless you’re looking for...
