City Express Plus by Marriott Monterrey Nuevo Sur — Hotel in Nuevo León

Excellent travel experience for a quick weekend trip. The hotel is fairly new, and is conveniently located within a shopping center. Multiple restaurants and bars, retail shops, movie theater, bowling, banks, even a travel agency which I utilized to book my next trip. I stayed in a room with 1 queen size bed. The mattress was comfortable, and the linens were clean, and soft to touch. Room and bathroom were both really clean. Enough storage and counter space for personal items. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board provided. Basic toiletries provided as well. Noise was minimal to none, at any time of day or night. Breakfast provided each morning until 11am. Great for late risers like myself. Breakfast included: fresh sliced fruit (papaya, cantaloupe), bananas, cottage cheese, yogurt, granola, cereal, milk, scrambled eggs, toast, jelly, pastries, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice. The hotel contracts with a private taxi service for convenient transportation of guests. I used this service multiple times per day and night. Prices are above the average taxi rates. However, the vehicles are brand new, sedan type, with ac/heater. The drivers were really professional, courteous, and able to contact 24 hrs via phone call or whatsapp. And most important, I always felt safe. I belive the most important detail of such great experience at this hotel was the entire hotel staff. Every employee I encountered from the desk clerk who checked me in at 1:40 am on saturday, to the kitchen staff and the cleaning crew. They were friendly, courteous, and extremely professional. They made me feel safe, and welcome during my entire stay. I booked the rooms online through the hotel website directly (same prices as travelocity and expedia). No difficulty submitted reservation. Payment made via credit card upon arrival to hotel (credit card number needed to make reservation). The hotel is located 30 minutes away from airport, and both Cola de Caballo and Chipinque. Parque Fundidora and museums (which are free on Sundays) located 15 minutes away. Overall great experience, highly recommended. Definitely coming back to this hotel for next trip...

Mixed emotions here.

On one side, this hotel has a great location. Since is right in the middle of the mall, you can easily go get dinner and a snack, do some shopping, go to the supermarket that is in the mall and super close to the doors, get Tim Horton's coffee and never need a car to do that. They have lots of security measures, they do a questionnaire, temperature checks, spray your bags every time you come back, the antibacterial gels, etc. We were nicely welcomed and everything went pretty smoothly.

On the other hand, as soon as we get to the room, we found long hairs in a pillow. So every safety measure goes out the window and we suddenly felt not so safe. Hairs in a pillow means the room has not been throughly cleaned, especially during a pandemic, when that is super important.

Then, the transportation situation. The hotel is still advertising this amenity, which is that they drive you anywhere in a 10km radius for free. It was one of the reasons why we chose them. One receptionist told us it was still working, and to just let them know 10 minutes before we needed the service. The other receptionist flat out refused, citing pandemic reasons. So all this confusing information ended up not giving us the service we specifically chose the hotel for. They need to mention the service is no longer available, as they mention any new...

I stayed here every week for a period of almost 3 months. The main reason was the great location.||The hotel is a business class place with small rooms with few amenities but where you really don't need anything they don't offer.||Designed for executives that only spend the night, this place is premium. If you don't like the house's small breakfast, you have plenty of alternatives available as the hotel is located in a shopping mall with plenty of restaurants to choose from.||The mall or plaza has everything you may need (banks, restaurants, laundry, mobile phone companies, courier services, supermarket and even a movie theatre).||Staff was always friendly, always.||This also offers a great variety of different alternatives for lunch or dinner as the plaza gets many visitors.||One thing management could improve is the slow coffee machine in the breakfast area, could upgrade.||Super clean and comfortable rooms always (I tried many of them).||Place is also great for short stays (families, etc).||Most restaurants in the plaza offer a discount for hotel guests. Free parking is available.||Overall, great place to stay for...
