Holiday Inn Galerías could be not the best hotel of the IHG chain in Monterrey but certainly is not the worst either. I mean let's be honest, to me you're paying the right price for the stay. You can go to other IHG hotels in Valle Oriente, just a few minutes drive and the price will go up almost the double.
Now going back to the hotel review. I've seen many others and honestly don't know why one of their major complains are that they couldn't lower or increase the air conditioning because it was the first thing I do when enter into a hotel room as to me is always freezing, and I was able to manipulate without a problem.
The hotel facilities are ok, clean, neat, and shiny. Even though I stayed at that sameplace back in the nineties, to me looks good 👍.
There's two things I would mention. First thing is that the pool wasn't at the best conditions in terms of cleaning and apparently they are short on hotel staff. Could be because we are just surfacing from a two years hiatus worldwide and those are signs of that ? I want to think is because of that.
On the other hand, the personnel I ran into were humble and eager to help. Can't really complain about a thing. Well, there is a thing and maybe is the reason why I gave 4 stars to the room and is the fact that there's still bathtub. Please 🙏 get rid of it and specially in a city like Monterrey. Read moreI selected this hotel based on my previous Holiday Inn experiences and it was very disappointing: 1) the train wakes you up every hour 2) Staff with attitude 3) This was the official hotel for a college event that I attended with my kids and it looked to me that they were not prepared to work at full capacity 4) The facilities are unproperly cleaned, stained sheets and towels 5) They have nice balconies but the window/door didn’t work 6) We required to use the washer and dryer machines they have only one and it was broken. 7) I have experienced the “quick breakfast” that the Holiday Inn express offers, and this was far below expectations, getting a single fork got forever, the staff with attitude were just running around trying to keep the tables as cleaned as possible without paying attention to the customers at all. ||||I understand the concept of business class hotel (I have status in ICHG) and this was below expectations. I have personally written my concern to the ICHG chain and I am sure beign a Holiday Inn they will do something about it.||||I do not recommend this...
Read moreI am used to receive an outstanding service at any hotel of this chain, however, I can rate this one only as an average service. Main reason is the personnel at front desk. They are just there not even saying hi to the people coming into the property. The hotel charges you for everything that I am not used to see anywhere else (coffe at the front desk, check in 1 hour ahead just to give you quick examples). Also, the interior of the hotel needs attention. The shower of my room looks like will fall soon. The water at the swimming pool was really cold; pool towels were in really bad shape, almost ripping off....
That is not the used quality of a Holiday Inn hotel. I stayed at this property in the past and this was not the usual behavior.
I would recommend to find another Holiday Inn in the city if possible, while people at this property improves what I have mentioned, in order to return to the used Holiday Inn quality. Reading other reviews, somehow they expressed the same concerns, so unfortunately, it is not...
