Macondito — Hotel in Oaxaca

Cute hotel, incredible location, but had cockroaches in our rooms..and that wasn't the worst thing that happened..

I purchased two rooms, one for my wife and I, and another for my in-laws. They were next to each other and both had multiple roaches. We showed the front desk and they profusely apologized and gave us new rooms. After checking the new rooms out throughly, we felt comfortable enough continuing our stay.

We tried not to let the first impression get the best of us. It is part of the reason I always try to inspect my room carefully when I first check in.

However, the second night at around 6pm the water to the building was shut off. The front staff was very vague on the details and tried to make us shower from 5 gallon buckets of water from who knows where. We are suspicious that the hotel is under serious financial stress, or ran by an idiot. Possibly both.

Having my wife's 87 year old grandpa shower from a bucket is pathetic. We ended up booking another hotel and demanded a refund after that. It is unacceptable to shower from...

STAY AWAY!! IT IS NOT HOTEL FOR SLEEPING! Don't let the cuteness of the house and rooms to fool you! This hotel is becoming a nightmare during the night as there is a huge and extremely loud discotheque next door so don't even dream about sleeping unless you can sleep on the speakers of drums and bass! It is awful, the most awful experience I ever had with the hotel. The music stopped after 5 am! They did not warn me when I did check-in during the day, that something like this can happen, I would never stay there. I was even at night walking around on the streets and tried to find another place to sleep but there were no free rooms available. Worse thing was their arrogant attitude in the morning when I asked refund - it's not their problem. Well, it will be their problem very soon as people will not stay in such a place anymore. A pity that there is not considered other businesses while put that club in the middle of the town. Be careful with all surrounding hotels as it is not even close to...
