Surf lesson experience:
I scheduled a surf lesson, inquiring about its duration. My friend also expressed interest, and the instructor agreed to teach us simultaneously for 900 pesos each, stating the lesson would last 1 hour and 20 minutes. Initially, I was concerned about the effectiveness of sharing the instructor's attention during this time, fearing that the individual instruction might be compromised.
Once we entered the water, the instructor's method involved taking one student at a time to catch waves, leaving the other waiting alone in somewhat intimidating conditions without any real guidance. After waiting 15-20 minutes on my own, feeling uneasy with the high waves and lack of instructions on how to handle them, I decided to return to shore and request a refund.
I proposed scheduling a private lesson for the following day, hoping for a more focused learning environment. However, the instructor, feeling slighted by my discomfort with the initial arrangement, declined to teach me further, suggesting I find another instructor.
I would have been willing to pay significantly more for a dedicated instructor who could ensure a safer, more productive learning experience.
Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place to beginners, unless they opt for one-on-one sessions with...
Read moreI spent 9 days in chacahua with a group of friends and initially only wanted to stay 4 days which already tells a lot about the place. We stayed with Agustin in the surf house and had a very special time there. He is probably the most welcoming host Iâve ever had and we spent lots of time together chilling at the beach, surfing, dancing salsa, having dinner or listening to his freestyle rap:) The rooms are very clean and are well equipped. Soon the new kitchen is built which will be very nice to also be able to cook your own food. We also rented boards at the surf house. Whatâs so special about the house was the fact that you literally walked 30 meters out of your room and can jump in the ocean or see the sunrise in the morning. Even if you donât plan to stay at the surf house you should come by visit Agustin and Chen (she works as a volunteer) cause theyâre the coolest people! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to just come back directly if time...
Read moreI had the best time in the Surfhouse in Chacahua. I was staying in two of the rooms with my friends and we had a magical time. Especially because of Chen and Agustin who work in the Surfrental and the Surfhouse. They are so welcoming and you can spend your whole day at the surfhouse chatting to them and everyone who comes by. For renting the boards itâs also the perfect location because you donât need to carry your board far and can go straight into the water. Now the new kitchen is done and really pretty and you can cook with a little breese and a lot of light:)! Instead of 3 days I stayed for 3 weeks and even after that it was hard to leave! I would recommend the Surfhouse to everyone who wants to have a great time in Chacahua;) Thanks for everything...
