🌴 Sanah Villa: Tulum's Best-Kept Nude-Friendly Secret

The location is good if you are wanting to stay in Tulum but to travel to Playa del Carmen or Cancun the drive is long. The rooms were fairly clean, really no complain there. The only down fall is there is no place to sit at inside the room itself only the bed. Service was not good! When we got there, mosquitoes where everywhere. Usually locations in the area use incense to get rid of them. I asked the gentleman walking us to our room why they didn’t have any and he said there was a shortage. However I went to other locations and they were using incense. Once we got to our room there were at least 10 mosquitoes in the room and plenty more in the eco-friendly bathroom. Well that was the least of our worries in staying there! The first night and full day we stayed with them there was no hot water, we were showering in cold water with mosquitoes. The second night we got back from Xplor and the a/c was not working. Called the same guy who took us to our room the first night. He came in and said we should troubleshoot it ourselves, that sometimes the control acts up. (I don’t believe I should be troubleshooting when everything should be working). He got it working. The third night we came back from Xcaret and again the a/c was not working. They made us wait around 1-2 hours to see if the a/c would work and to decide whether they were going to move us villa if it didn’t. Well it didn’t!! They finally moved us to another villa the final 2 nights. Would I stay here again? NO! Word to the wise if you are okay with using the restroom while having spiders, mosquitoes and a scorpion there then this is a good place to stay at. If you are not a nature person, don’t stay here!

Absolutely perfect place (booked through Airbnb)! My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first night in Tulum, so my review is based on a one-night stay. Taking that into consideration, the main positive things were: the private pool, the jungle setting, the stylish design, the comfort, communication with the nice airbnb host and free parking. This is also the perfect instagram airbnb to take some photos in your own private pool and make a video going out of bed straight into the pool. The check-in was super smooth, even though we arrived pretty late (but before midnight). Some comments here mentioned the bugs, so I have to point out that there were no bugs, even though it’s surrounded by vegetation. The reason is because they had just put out some bug-repellant candles at the front of each door, which had a lovely smell too! The only things that could have been an issue if we had stayed longer is the lack of a kitchen, the semi-open private bathroom (no one can see through, but they might be able to hear). Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy a stylish stay in the jungle!

Every detail of our stay was amazing. The staff was patient and helpful! The accommodations were clean and everything was well stocked. It was so quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed the resort dog, Clyde!! Special shout out to Carol was answered all my questions prior to arrival and took care of transportation arrangements.

Two tips.

We did not eat breakfast at Sanah. For $10 USD there was breakfast in town. Highly recommend Cafetería Hunab Ku. We ate there twice. One entree can feed 2 people and the espresso is delicious!

We rented a buggy for $170 USD through Lagoon Rentals. They deliver and you pay through a transfer app upon arrival. It was well worth the money. We traveled all the way to the hotel zone and back and forth into town. $5 USD to refill the gas tank. We wish we did it before the last day!!!

Taxis to town about $10 USD and to hotel zone $35 USD.

We are so glad we chose to stay near town and not the hotel. The atmosphere was safe but lively. Lots to enjoy and...
