Stayed here a couple of times in the last month. It is right on the water, has a pool, inside showers (2 for men and 2 for women) and a very good restaurant. ||It is located in Calderitas which is about 15 minutes east of Chetumal. Calderitas is a weekend getaway spot for the locals and has a bunch of seaside restaurants which are hopping on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the week it is very quiet and peaceful. The pool and restaurant at Yax Ha are frequented on the weekend by locals so it can be pretty busy although the campsites seem to be pretty much left alone.||Basic needs such as groceries and drinking water are within walking distance.||Yax Ha has campsites for RV's and all other types of campers. Power (basic) and water are available in some sites. The side is secured on all sides and lighted at night.||I did not go into the bungalows but they looked very well kept from the outside. They were reasonably priced ($57 US for single) with AC and hot water. ||Camping was very inexpensive. I paid a little over $8 US per night.||The only real negative is a very slow wifi connection, but they do have one if you are patient.||If you are traveling through Mexico and are looking for a good place to stop for a while and recharge your batteries, I highly...
Read moreWe camped for two nights on our way to Belize. The site is about 10km from Chetumal (around 80 in a taxi). And cost 100 per night for 2 and a tent.||We got a spot right on the seafront with absolutely no neighbours. The restaurant onsite is pricey and distinctly average but the seafood in the restaurant next door is fantastic.||We could use the eletric hook ups points all over the campsite to charge our devices. There was a pool but we used the sea instead. ||I would have given this 5 stars if the toilets had been cleaner -...
Read moreNice park, 30a electric hookups, no water or sewer hookups but they have 2 cleanouts, two outside bathrooms with showers (cold water only), big clean swimming pool, free WiFi, restaurant food is okay, but many more are nearby, most sites are along seawall, but all are on solid ground, grass covered pull throughs. Rates recently went up to 450 pesos per night, too high for what you get in my opinion. Great staff (only speak Spanish), very quiet and well lit at night with...
